Owen woke up, it was dark. He groaned as he tried to move, he felt a splitting pain through his legs and arm.  He looked around, his vision still foggy. He was on grass, and it was warm out. Everything else looked like a blur of shades of green and brown. He assumed he was in a forest.

Owen sighed, how had he survived that fall? He didn't know. He closed his eyes, but then he heard growling. He opened his eyes and let his vision focus. There, in dark, he saw 4 wolves. They looked deprived of food.

Owen sat up, despite the pain. He tried moving, but his legs were broken. What happened next ended as fast as it came. The wolves lunged. He felt his body being ripped apart, first his arm. He caught a glimpse of it lying on the ground next to him. Then it was his eye, he felt it fall down his cheek. Then his skin was ripped open from his chest. After a minute, it all went dark.

Owen woke up again, gasping. He looked around, he was in the same spot, but, the sky was a weird shade of red and orange and...the colors were constantly changing between red, pink, and orange. He quickly found that he could move his legs again but there was something wrong. He was still missing his arm.

Owen frantically scrambled up, and then he found that he was bleeding from his chest, filled with damaged organs, and not filled with the missing ones. He felt his face with his hand and felt there was no skin on half of it.

He didn't feel any pain, none at all, but he was frightened. Owen wanted to be back at home, with Gabrielle, he wanted to see his son, he wanted everything to go back the way it was before the war. Before he came back a different person. Before he came back crazy.

Owen was suddenly standing in his room, red light from the windows filling his mind with dread. He heard movement from the other room and walked to it. There, he saw a young women, about 20. She was skinny and looked sick. He was confused for a moment, before he realized. It was Gabrielle.
