Oliver rushed towards Melody, or at least tried to, he found that he was stuck to the place he was standing. He tried calling out to his friend, he couldn't yell. It was as if he was in a dream and he could only watch.

Thankfully Melody looked up and saw him. He watched as she rushed over to him, stumbling on the way. "Oliver! What are you doing here?! You have to leave." Melody ordered him, "It's not safe." The distant howling of wolves and roars of unknown creatures made her statement more chilling.

Oliver looked at her, desperate to speak. Then he saw the locket she was wearing. It was long on her, and hung down to her heart. He tried to grab it, but when it came into contact with his hands, it burnt to the touch. He repealed his hand in an instant. "I've already tried, I think Vincent put this on me. I got it off slightly, and for a moment I thought I was in a hospital." Melody explained, "I think this is what is keeping me from waking up."

Melody looked back at him, "You have to go, I don't know why he wants to use me so much, but it can't be for a good reason." Melody put her hand on his cheek. He could feel the heat from her burnt hands. "I'll be okay." And with that, Oliver woke up with a start. He looked around. He was in the hospital.

"You're awake!" A women cried from the other side of the room. It was his foster mother. She ran over to him and hugged him, peppering his face with kisses. "Don't you ever do that to me again, young man!"

"Where's Melody?" Oliver questioned, ignoring everything else around him.

His foster mother looked at him, warily she replied, "She's three rooms down to the right."

Oliver didn't wait for anything else. He got up, practically jumping from the bed, and sprinted to her room. White walls zooming past him as he ran. He burst in without warning. He found her, awake, sitting up. She was talking to her parents, Jen and Jacob. Jen looked at Oliver, startled by his sudden appearance.

"Oliver, you're awake!" Jen exclaimed. Oliver ignored her, and looked at Melody. She had a patch over where her eye would have been. She didn't meet his eyes.

"Melody." Oliver barked at her. She ignored him. "Melody!" Oliver practically growled. One glaring, icy blue eye, met glaring green ones. Oliver clenched his teeth.

"Oliver I think you need to calm down." Jacob sternly said to the boy.

"Yeah Oliver, calm down." Melody replied, in a mocking tone. Her voice cracked as she spoke, as if she almost had two voices, her vocal cords switching between the two. He could practically hear the smirk in her voice.

Oliver was about to speak again, before he was suddenly dragged out of the room by his foster mother. "Oliver you can't run off like that! You passed out. You can talk to Melody later."

Oliver watched desperately as his friend's parents were left alone with the monster that wasn't Melody.
