Melody, Oliver, and Lilith were all on their way home. Lance was driving his car with the kids in the back. He had called a trusted police officer about Alexander and how Vincent killed him. Before they left, Alexander had given them some instructions...

"Find a charm you all can wear. Melody, that pendulum necklace will do. Oliver, do you have a necklace?" Alexander had asked.

"I have a necklace with wings on it." Oliver replied.

"That will work. Lilith? What about you?"

"I have a Ouija board piece that I can attach a string to. I found it on the ground in the hallway of the school last year" She replied.

"Uh...sure that works." Alexander confirmed.

Alexander gave Melody his book full of different...spells? She wasn't sure. He told her to cast a spell of protection on all of their charms. Melody sighed, she didn't know what was going to happen next. Life had become so unpredictable.

Oliver was shivering, due to being dragged through the snow. Melody took off her jacket and gave it to him, "Here...you look cold."

"T-Thanks.." He said gratefully.

The rest of the ride was silent. The guilt of what happened to Alexander came crashing down on Melody as she saw the blood stains on her clothes. She looked at Lance, who's knuckles were white as he gripped the steering wheel.

They stopped at Oliver and Lilith's house to pick up the charms, and then they started to Melody's house.

They eventually pulled up to Melody's house. Lance unlocked the car, "I'll be back at the church if you need me."

"Wait you aren't going to help us?!" Oliver exclaimed.

Lance didn't look at them, "You lot have already caused a lot of grief. I don't need any more." Melody saw him look at her through the rearview mirror. His gaze was cold. Melody quickly got out of the car, the other two followed. Oliver cast one last glare at Lance as he drove away.

"Let's just get inside." Lilith said as she started to walk inside, Oliver followed.

Melody, not knowing what to feel anymore, also followed. She wasn't looking where she was going, she just followed. She felt trapped, trapped in a never-ending cycle of bad decisions, bad actions and hurt.

They were going to Melody's room when she accidentally ran into her brother.

"Hey wa-" He cut off as he saw how bad his little sister looked, "What happened...?"

Melody shook her head as she tried to walk away from him, but he followed. "Melody! What happened to you?"

"Why are you even asking? You don't care about me...and even if you did, you wouldn't understand." Melody snapped at him. Chris was quiet as he just looked at her.

Chris sighed, "Please..."

Melody looked at the ground, "Fine. Just don't freak out.."
