I already said that I would go to sleep bc I'm tired but it's only ten thirty and I realized that I'm a one shot writer and hence obligated to write the laser tag fic. You know the one. "Play laser tag with me, corner me, kiss me, then shoot me in the chest and walk away." I'm paraphrasing but here we go (also pretend like they're normal people or something so I dont have to figure out how this all works

Roman's POV

"Alright, everybody, buckle your seatbelts, because we're going to play laser tag. Also because we're already in the car. Safety is important." Patton had decided that a group trip would be fun. Why laser tag was his idea of all things, I don't know, but it sounded like it might be ok.

"Is everyone buckled?" We all said "yes," sounding like a group of disappointed teenagers that have been told by the teacher that they need to say good morning.

"Let's get this show on the road then!" I glanced over at Virgil who had already put in his earbuds. I rolled my eyes and looked out the window. He could at least try to talk to us for once. Wait, no, he agreed to come with us, we didn't even have to argue with him. Be nice. I scolded myself for one thought then let my mind wander as I watched the passing cars.

Twenty or so minutes of not paying attention later, we pulled up to the laser tag place. It was decorated in aliens and things like that that made me wish I had a hood like Virgil's to pull up to hide behind. I have a reputation to uphold.

"Patton, I still don't see the point-" Logan tried to argue.

"Family bonding time!" Patton yelled as he pushed open the door, not seeming to care about his volume level. We trudged in, and Virgil had still neglected to take out his earbuds. I could hear his music because he was blaring it; it sounded like MCR. Patton lead the way to the front desk where some acne-ridden teenager wearing a vest that was somehow neon-red was chewing gum and playing on his phone.

"Excuse me, sir, we'd like to play laser tag. If we all get just one round each, all four of us, how much is that?" The kid begrudgingly said that it was 20 something dollars. I don't know. I wasn't paying attention, because I was trying to get Virgil's attention so he would turn his stupid emo music down. Seriously! They were blaring some mix of 2000's pop and 80's space-age kind of stuff and I could still hear hints of a guitar riff from his earbuds. He's gonna rupture his eardrums or something! Finally, I snapped my fingers in front of his face.

"Hey! Fall Out Boy concert! Turn down the music, I can hear it from all the way over here. You'll hurt your ears or something."

"If I can't hear whatever abomination they have the speakers blasting in here while I kick your ass at laser tag, then I'm golden." He shoved his earbud back in, but I saw him turn down the volume a bit. The cashier stomped towards the laser-tag room and we were the only ones there. Surprising, no one else wanted to play laser-tag here. They were one 8-year-old's birthday party short of really bringing in cash today, so we were the only ones playing. He turned on a TV at the front of the room which explained the safety guidelines.

"You know what, I'm done. I'm gonna go tell my boss that I quit. Do whatever you want, you'll figure out how it works.

"Good luck!" Patton said cheerily as the kid walked away. We all stood there awkwardly for a little while until Patton told us to carry on with what we were doing. We managed to get on our vests and get our guns, and Virgil finally took out his earbuds. We found our way to the door, and the guns automatically booted up. It was gonna be interesting playing without a timer or anything, because someone needs to set that by hand I think, but we established teams and everything and started our own countdown.

"3! 2! 1! Go!" I yelled. Patton and I took off from our side of the arena to find Logan and Virgil. Honestly, I couldn't provide you with any good details. there was a lot of running, which we weren't supposed to do, and there was a lot of awkwardly hiding behind the strange fluorescent obstacles. As far as I could tell, Logan and I were winning.

I found a good hiding place for a second because I needed to reload. I saw Patton chasing Logan across the arena and laughed a bit. I waited as my gun made some sort of strange noise to signal that it was reloading. I noticed that I was low on health, too. The kid hadn't set up the revive mechanism before he left, and you definitely needed an admin for that. I tried to stay in my hideout to let my health recharge a bit.

I glanced left and right because there was one person not accounted for. Virgil. He could be anywhere, and I could almost sense him plotting. I let my guard down for a second to actually check my health. It had only gone up a small amount, so I could still only take one more hit. Suddenly, I felt someone gripping my shoulders. It was Virgil!

"What are you-"

"Just shut up." He like jedi mind tricked me into silence, but I let my face show all of my confusion. Then all of a sudden, he was kissing me! I mean, I certainly wasn't opposed to it. There were no more neon lights, no more guns or vests, no more crappy futuristic pop, but just us. Me and Virgil. Together. I started to move my lips against his, and he did the same. I heard Patton giggling, meaning he probably just got a really good shot at Logan, but they were still across the room. We had time.

I felt Virgil biting at my lip. I would love to be a tease, but not right this second. I opened my mouth just a bit and he slipped his tongue in. It was strange but I was on a whole different planet at the moment. I was enjoying whatever the hell was happening. I really never wanted it to end.

"Game Over." That bastard! He had pulled away from me and shot me in the chest. I watched, heartbroken, as the son of a bitch blew me a kiss while he walked away.

So IK this is really short and it kinda sucks but I guess it's ok? I'm gonna do anything that's not sleep or writing for a little while but I'm gonna make christmas chapters for all of my books soon so look forward to that.

My emojis probably still aren't working because it's only been like an hour but stay gay, y'all (edit: I wrote this literal months ago but I just remembered to come back for the rainbow flag) 🏳️‍🌈
