Fight me I'm making angsty Logicality in my Prinxiety book because why not (okay so it's not really angst it's more just a dysfunctional relationship but whatever)
Logan's POV
I adjusted a wire in the panel and when I was satisfied that everything was in working condition, I closed the small door on its back. I found the clothes I had chosen and dressed my creation. I looked it over, feeling proud. Everything was in place, from the sweater around his shoulders to his glasses, perfectly balanced on his face, to every hair on his head. I'd done it. I'd made myself the ideal partner.
I flicked the small switch on his inner arm and smiled as I heard machinery whirring as the startup procedure began. I'd finally get to feel what Virgil and Roman feel. No more being bitter and watching them enjoy each other's company because I had my own person to spend time with. Well, not 'person,' I suppose. I had my own robot that could love me better than any human.
"Hiya Logan!" He smiled brightly, and I couldn't hold back the tide of happiness.
"Hello, Patton. How are you feeling?"
"I'm doing just fine, thanks for asking!" I smiled and nodded, affirming to myself that this was working as planned. "So, what did you want to do today, honey?"
"We have a double date scheduled with Virgil and Roman, remember? We're going to that diner?"
"Oh, that's right. I forgot. My bad." I picked up my notepad and scribbled down a quick line about the memories I'd implanted. Well, it was to be expected, I suppose, given the fact that this is the first time he's being used.
"I should get ready. Go and wait for me on the couch, if you don't mind."
"Certainly," he said cheerily, whistling as he walked to the living room. I left my small workshop and went to the bathroom, deciding that I needed a quick shower. I was slightly coated in oil, and my arms were covered with small ink markings of equations and small things I had to remember. That was no way to appear in public.
I thought more about my creation. Patton. I couldn't help but feel proud of myself. As far as I knew, no one else had created a robot with semi-consciousness that could intake memories as data. And I wasn't planning on sharing my technology. Patton was mine and I didn't need some moronic professors running around trying to duplicate him.
I got out of the shower and dried off, putting on my normal dress shirt, tie, and slacks before drying my hair and such. When I was ready, I went downstairs to see Patton on the couch humming to himself. I smiled and told him to come with me to the car so we could be on our way. I knew that bringing him out in public could be risky, especially when I hadn't tested him for bugs and glitches yet, but I just couldn't wait. I was too excited to show him off. As a human, of course.
"And remember, you're a human that I met recently, correct?"
"Of course. We met in a small coffee shop across town and hit it off, I asked for your number, and we started dating."
"Good. Let's go in." We got out of the car, and I grabbed his hand. It perfectly simulated a normal human hand and I couldn't help but smile at both the thought that I had accomplished this major feat of crafting a person and that I would get to show it off to Virgil and Roman.
We took a seat at an empty booth and waited for Virgil and Roman, who were late, as per usual. With nothing else to do, I looked over Patton again. I got stuck staring in his almost hypnotizing blue eyes that took so long to perfect. He smiled back at me.
"Hey guys!" Roman said loudly, sitting down across from us. "So who's this? I don't think we've met before." Patton extended a hand for Roman to shake.
