As they wondered around re-getting a feel for the old family Cabin they found themselves in the massive library stocked with first edition books by ever author known, even books some would have thought where lost during book burning throughout the ages.
"This place is like a museum." Derek gasped as he looked around the room of stain glass windows, even the skylight was an amazing display of worriors fighting an entity.
"Ummm that's Gabe.
Younger but that's him!" Miles froze infront of the floor to ceiling stainglass window.
Gabe was in full armor of gold right on down to his sword with the eligant blood red carving on the blade: Sword of The Spirit.
"This was always our favorite place to sit.
For some reason Alexander never bothered us if we were sitting on that window seat." Johnny said as he thought of that day...
.........................Library Past.........................
The boys could hear Alexander cussing and yelling as he made his way into the library.
"I thought I told you boys....
Well you better be doing your homework!" Alexander snapped as he stood there eyes locked on the sainglass figures eyes.
Johnny couldn't help smirk cause he knew there was something about it that made Alexander calm and leave them be.
"Oh yeah sorry...
We started reading the books you assinged us.
We got caught up and lost track of time.
I'll go burn the garbage soon I swear." Johnny said as he started to put the book mark in.
"Just get it done tomorrow.
Its getting late and you boys are not use to the area yet.
Don't forget to turn on the lights soon.
You'll ruin your eye sight reading in dim lighting." Alexander actually acted normal for the first time in a long time.
Cam kept his nose buried in his book but wasn't actually reading he was just afraid to look at Alexander (aka Dad before they knew the truth about him.)
"How is it he acts normal every time we sit here?" Cam inquired.
"He's afraid of Gabriel." Johnny thumbed the window with a smirk.
"Why do you keep calling him that?" Cam laughed.
"I don't know?
He looks like a Gabe to me." Johnny shrugged.
"Wish this guy was real and could take us away from here." Johnny sighed as a stray tear fell.
Cam couldn't help notice the bruise on Johnny's cheek that was turning purply green.
It tunred Cam's stomach as he rembered the beating Johnw got as he hid under the bed in their Grandpa's room like a coward.
They snuck in there when Alexander was out doing who knows what.
The boys vowed to each other never to go in there again.
They would get a pass every time they went in the room marked Sebastian Black.
There was something about that room that made them feel safe.
And kept Alexander from stepping a foot in there.
"We should sleep in Sebastian's room tonight just to be safe." Johnny suggested.
Cam could see Johnny was sensing something bad was going to happen.
Johnny started breathing like he couldn't catch his breath and he was highly alert to any sound.
Johnny looked up at the stain glass one more time as Cam walked away to the door that led the back way up a spiral stairs case to Sebastian's room.
"Protect my brother Gabriel." Johnny pleaded with the stainglass figure.
"Should we get something to eat first?" Cam called back.
"Nah I stocked the mini fridge." Johnny grabbed Cam's book bag filled with his classic pooh collection.
"You forgot this." Johnny smirked as Cam hugged the bag and thanked him.
Johnny's only attachment was his brother he didn't have any favorite toys but he did like Cam's stuffed animals especially Eeyore.
......................Library Present......................
Lexi found Johnny standing infront of the spiral stairs case.
She placed her hand on his shoulder gently.
"A penny for your thoughts." Lexi smirked as he looked at her.
"I remember you doing that when you were here after Cam did it to you actually giving you a penny...
He got you to to talk after being silent for half a month.
Than everytime you find me just staring off you tug on my sleeve holding a penny in your little hand." Johnny smiled as a stray tear rolled down his cheek as he remmbered the three year old Lexi.
"Yeah instead of taking the penny you'd scoop me up and cry as you held me tight." Lexi smirked and a tear escaped her too.
"We are a mess." Johnny chuckled.
"We really are.
No thanks to Alexander..." Lexi said his name like it was a cruse to even utter his name and with such hatred.
"So what's up there?" Lexi Inquired trying to change the mood before she did something unlady like.
"My dad's room.
We didn't know it than but now makes sence how we found refuge there..."
..........................Library Past........................
Cam woke up from a nightmare but Johnny was sound asleep.
Cam looked at his toys and noticed Roo was missing.
"Come on Kanga let's go find your son." Cam whispered as he picked up and hugged Kanga.
Cam walked down the spiral stairs that led into the library.
As Cam walked around looking for Roo he heard a sound coming from the study.
Cam made his way to it for some reason.
Usually Cam is one to go away from the unknown sound not investigate like Johnny.
As Cam reached the door, out stumbled a drunk Alexander.
Before Cam could get out of sight Alexander saw him.
Cam froze like a deer in headlights.
"Where have you been hiding?" Alexander groweled as he grabed the front of Cam's pj shirt.
Alexander lifted the eight year old off the ground by the his shirt.
"I was up stairs sleeping...
I wasn't hiding." Cam pouted, he was trying not to cry.
"Where's Johnathan your boddy gaurd?" Alexander hissed as he let go of the shirt and let Cam just fall to the ground twisting his ankle.
Cam screamed in pain.
Alexander slapped him across the face.
"Quit that screaming or I'll do to you what I do to Johnathan and give something to really scream about." Alexander gripped Cam's throat like a vipper lifting him off the ground once again but now cutting off Cam's air supply.
Cam did his best with his little hands to pry him off before he passes out.
"LET HIM GO!!" Johnny screamed as he slammed into Alexander with his full eight year old 70lb body weight.
Luckily Alexander was that drunk and fell loosing grip on Cam.
Cam just laid their gasping for air as Johnny got to his side.
"Lets go..." He noticed something was seriously wrong with Cam's foot, the nearest place for them to get to was the window.
Johnny drug Cam with all his might.
They huddled together infront of the saint glass.
Alexander made his way to them in his drunken stupper.
Johnny covered Cam the best he could with his whole body.
Alexander stopped two feet away from the boys.
Again Alexander froze stairing up at that window as if it was a living thing that would destroy him if he made a move towards the boys.
Alexander grumbled something and stormed off to the study.
Crying Johnny looked up and realized they were alone.
"Why were you down here?" Johnny cupped Cam's face with his hands.
"Roo was missing...
Kanga and me were looking for him." Cam said between hard sniffles.
Johnny looked over and against the corner of the window sat Roo.
Johnny rolled his eyes and grabbed it handing it to Cam.
"Never ever do that again.
Let's go get ice for that ankle...
And throat." Johnny helped Cam up the steps.
........................Library Present....................
"That was before you came I think two days before.
Soo...
Where's my penny?" Johnny grinned with his hand out.
Lexi snorted a laugh than wrapped her arms around his neck.
It took Johnny a moment for him to wrap his arms around her pulling her close as he sobbed into her shoulder....
