Chapter 9

..Black Family Cabin Past Continues..
Johnny was enjoying the freedom as was Cam who mostly laid around due to the pain his back was giving him and the fact his pain meds made him tired.
"Lets see we got mac and cheese...
Mac and cheese...
Mac and cheese...
Bet you'll never guess what's in this cupboard." Johnny smirked at Cam who was resting his head on the counter as Johnny looked for food.
"Mac and cheese." Cam grumbled.
"Nope raviolis." Johnny laughed as he made his way to the fridge.
He pulled out a jar for diced garlic and an onion.
"Umm what ya doin?" Cam figured  he just open the can and they just eat it colf.
"I saw this on a cooking show once gonna try it." Johnny cut up the onion drizzled olive oil and salt to taste stired it up and popped in the microwave.
Nuked till semi soft put the garlic in and put the hot onions on it than he heated up the raviolis for them added his onion to it and served.
"Wow that's good!" Cam exclaimed.
"It really is." Johnny chuckled.
"I wander how many and cheese would taste with this onion stuff, heck we gotta see how much we can put with this stuff its so good." Cam chuckled as he took another mouthful.
"Here its time for your antibiotic." Cam made a face as Johnny handed him the pill.
"What its to help prevent infection?" Johnny shrugged.
"Yeah but every time I take it I feel sick and tired." Cam pouted.
"That's odd I looked everything up this can irritate your stomach but not cause drowsiness your pain med can make you sleepy but not the antibiotics." Johnny paged through the book he got from the pharmacy when he ran in for the meds.
Heck he even asked the pharmasit if any of them cause drowsiness he said only the pain med.
"You don't think dad tampered with it to make sure we stay put?" Johnny pondered out loud.
"I wouldn't doubt it." Cam frowned.
"I saw a holistic book in the library I'll check and see if we can find a substitute.
But till I do you gotta take it." Johnny said as he put it in Cam's hand.
Reluctantly he took it.
Johnny did end up finding other things that would help instead.
Two weeks later just like he said Alexander was there for Cam.
It felt like forever till they came back.
No more meds needed Johnny was just as pleased he hated seeing Cam so down.
Cam only needed the pain med if he felt he needed it.
"How have you two been getting along by yourselves?" Alexander inqured as he did his rounds making sure everything was working and they had enough food.
"Good been reading a lot." Johnny smirked.
"Thats good.
I see your keeping up with your homework." Alexander said as he went through checking their work books.
"Okay I'll see you boys at the end of the month." Alexander said as he left.
"You know I can get use to this." Johnny laughed.
A month went by quickly Cam's last physical was perfect he was cleared to ride the four wheeler so now the boys were going to really have fun.
"Lets go explore the shops and see what got left behind." Cam's eyes grew wide with excitement.
It didn't take long for them to reach the strip mall.
They found some old toys and games they gathered up along with some canned veggies.
Than they ventured into the garage.
"You think it still works." Johnny's eyes grew wide as they looked at the jeep.
"I don't know but neither of us can drive." Cam said nervously.
"You heard dad its our road no one..." Johnny stopped talking when he heard a pick up truck pull into one of the parking lots.
"Cam get over here." Johnny half whispery yelled at Cam who stood in the doorway of the garage.
"Who are they?" Cam whispered as they hid inside the jeep.
"Hunters that got lost maybe but still..." Johnny relized they were looking at the four wheelers packed with their loot.
"Must be the brats to that rich snob that kicked all these people out of here." One of the guys said.
"Oh this is gonna be good his kids are here alone.
I just saw that snob pass us on the way here." One of the guys laughed.
"What are they talking about?" Cam bearly spoke loud enough for Johnny to hear him.
"Kidnap..." Johnny whispered in his ear as he reached for the the key to turn on the jeep.
Lucky for them it worked right away.
Johnny threw it in drive and stepped on the gas nearly hitting those guys.
Johnny didn't hit the breaks till he reached the cabin.
Johnny had Cam open the garage to hide the jeep.
"You don't think they'll come here?" Cam asked nervously as Johnny went around locking all shutters and doors.
"I don't know I just want to make this place look as abandoned as possible.
Stay in here while I go outside and close the library shutters.
I have my key so lock that door and go to your room and lock your door do not come out for anyone.
I'll come to you." Johnny ordered as he walked out the door.
Cam was about to go up when he remembered the Butler's door that led to the servant quarters that led directly into the house.
As Cam made his way to the door in walked three guys.
Before Cam could react one of them grabbed him covering his mouth so he couldn't scream.
"Go find the other while I deal with this brat." The man growled as he practically snapped Cams head back while pulling his hair.
He shoved Cam into the chair in the study and started tying Cam up.
"Your old man stole from a lot of people kid.
So now you and your brother are gonna pay the price." He sneared at Cam right before he punched him in the face.
The other two came in alone.
"Where is he!?" He yelled at his friends as he yanked Cam's head back by his hair.
"He took off into the woods." One of the guys cringed as he watched his friend hurt the boy.
"Watch him and keep him quiet." He punched Cam in the head one last time. Cam sat there quietly watching his gaurd who looked no older than twenty eating a candy bar.
The guy glanced up and gave him a weak smirk.
"Hey sorry about him he's been different since the buy out he lost his families store and hunting cabin.
Hey you hungry or thirsty." The young guy asked.
"Can you you give me my pain pill its in the the kitchen through the door behind me its on the shelf above the sink?" Cam whinced in pain as his back started hurting again.
"Man this is a strong pain med...
What happened to you?" The young guy was seriously concerned.
"I was doing an act in my dad's show the rope snapped and I landed on the edge of the stage nearly severing my spine.
My doc said I'm a medical marvel I should have died or been paralyzed from the hight I fell but instead I healed fast without any scarring." Cam smirked.
"Say why are you kids out here alone?" The young guy asked as he proceeded to untie Cam.
"Our dad is insane." Cam laughed.
"My name is Nikolah.
You think you can hide yourself?" Nik smirked.
That's when Cam relized something was different about this guy and he could trust him.
Could have been the emerald green soul piercing eyes or his genuine concern and the fact he was rescuing him.
"Yeah this place is huge with all sorts of hiding places.
But what about my brother?" Cam inquired.
"I'll protect him.
Right now you need to hide." Nik led him into the library and paused a moment at the stain glass window the smile on Nik's face was that of someone seeing an old friend or family member.
"My brother named him Gabriel." Cam chuckled.
"The name suits him...
Okay go hide.
I promise I'll protect Johnny." Nik said as Cam ran up the steps to his room but paused when he heard Nik say his brothers name.
"Just go." Nik urged.
Nik sat on the steps waiting for his friends or whoever they really were.
Nik's heart sunk as they walked in with Johnny all beat up and exhausted.
"Why are you out here!?" The man yelled as he practically threw Johnny at Nik's feet.
"Jones this is stupid." Nik said as he helped Johnny to his feet.
"Stupid!?
I'm doing what I was hired to do." Jones grined as he pulled out a crood dagger.
Nik pushed Johnny behind him protectively.
"Don't tell me your one of  those double guys with a bleeding heart for kids." Jones sneered as he put the tip of his dagger against Nik's chest at his heart.
Johnny clearly heard his protector gaulp.
"You don't scare me." Nik narrowed his eyes at Jones.
Jones lundged at him but Nik got himself and Johnny out of his way and took off up the stairs.
Johnny unlocked Cam's room just before the other two made it up there.
"Okay who are you people?" Johnny demanded after checking on Cam.
"Its a long story that I don't think your door will hold long enough to tell.
You mentioned secret passages?" Nik directed the last question to Cam who led the way.
They hid out in their favorite hide out room.
"Wow you gathered a lot of twinkies." Nik laughed at the wondered around the room.
"K start telling us who you are." Johnny demanded once again.
"Look I can't.
Technically your suposed to be untouchable but those two morons found a loop hole.
I can tell you this the life you were raised is a total lie.
Ever watch that cartoon Rugrats?
They did an episode with mirror people there dad looked the same but acted different well let's just say you've been raised by your mirror dad." Nik tried to explain without giving to much away that he isn't allowed to give them to much details.
"Wait what!?" Johnny half yelled.
Before Nik could explain Jones and his brother Carson were there.
"Hello boys...
Hide and seek is over." Jones growled as he grabbed Johnny by the hair and arm as he forced Johnny out and to the door that led down into the dungeon with Carson following behind with Nik who put Cam infront of himself so to be away from Carson.
Both boy's hearts sunk as they entered the cavren hall way...
