Chapter 8

John and I practically stayed up all night watching over Cam and H.G.
At times Cam woke up screaming and thrashing around as if offending off some invisible foe.
Well not actually woke more like sat up stared blankly than felk back into the bed.
As for H.G. he was more quiet and whining in his sleep but with both of them the worse was when they'd stop breathing for long periods of time.
So I decided to keep myself awake all night and took to my journal.
Man I really neglected my writing.
I'm not gonna bother with any catch me ups its to painful and tired some.
All I'll say after the boys hike we were captured, seperated and tourcherd for I don't even know how long or if the boys are safe.
We found out Cam never killed Alexander just wounded him.
Alexander used that to his advantage trying to pretend to be our dad again but more like he was when we first lost mom and were still upset and I guess easier to handle.
But thankfully dad did have spies amongst that evil group they got us out before they realized we figured out he was Alexander.
We were almost home free when they jumped us taking Cam and H.G. hostage using them as humansheilds so I couldn't shoot Jones.
We don't know how or when but they injected them both with some sort of poison.
John seems to avoid the question every time I asked what type of poison it was.

As Johnny sat next to Cam's bed writing in his journal he was interupted by Cam screaming and crying out for him.
"Cam!
I'm right here, its just a nightmare, wake up Cam, your safe, please wake up!" Johnny's pleas were useless.
"Johnny I...
Well I'm not sure how I can explain this to you..."
"Explain what!?" Johnny was about to relax back in his chair cuz Cam seemed to be relaxing again.
"He's not exactly having a nightmare, he's living it." John looked at Johnny to see if what he was saying registered.
"How can he be living it!?
That makes no sence." Johnny snapped with a confused look as he looked down at his brother who was flinching in his sleep.
"Its the same when you were in the Lord's Garden, except obviously its not the Lord's Garden now, its more like the Devils playground.
In fact the posion comes from a plant in Shadow Wood's or well any of the areas they dwell, its called Devils food.
See it looks and tastes like the best meal you have ever eaten, like the tea, except the effects are complete opposites.
The tea heals you makes, you feel calm, peaceful, your mind seems clearer even.
But with Devils Food you become ill, weak, your mind gets clouded and every horrible thing that has ever happened in your life you relive over and over.
Cam could be a child fearing for your life and his own or recent events, either way one of those things are happening and they are not as you remember, the Evil one likes to shift things up make it play out more to his will.
H.G. could be reliving the moment in his mothers womb, reasons to why he seems less active." John explained the best he could.
Johnny just looked down at his brother eyes watering for fear he would never wake that nightmare and how helpless he felt that he couldn't be there with him, helping him.
They were both startled as their door opened.
"My apologies.
I just came to check on their wounds and vitals.
I'm Camila." The young girl said as she poked her head in.
"I heard its Devils Food that has them so stricken.
Did you know one of our greatest scientists figured out away to tap into that Dream World?
Its nothing more than another realm like the Real world and Spiritual Realm.
Archer is one of the best warriors who actually helped a few come back safely.
If you want I could see if he can take you along to help Cam.
And than you to help H.G." Camila offered as she did her checks and changing of the necessary.
They both agreed.
She drew blood from them both.
"Its just incase, last resort if your a possible match for a blood transfusion.
I already assume you'll be.
But I don't even know, are you two realated?" She asked John who shook his head even tho he looked and cared for H.G. as his baby brother.
"Okay well just out of curosity we'll look into that.
Your mother wasn't Ripper's only victim." Camila said all too perky but that was her always perky.
"Wait do you know something I...
Well we don't?" John pointed his chin towards H.G. who looked peaceful at the moment as did Cam.
"Well I shouldn't be telling you this but since I know how close you are I'll brake the rule just this once.
See when the Wells were just happy newly wed they on their honeymoon.
It was a remote area, they were hiking when they ran into Ripper the first time.
Mr. Wells was knocked out assumed dead when Ripper attacked Mrs. Wells. Both assumed dead when he left them there.
About nine months later to Ripper's surprise their they were neither of them recognized him.
But he recognized them and the fact she could be carrying his baby well that was enough for him to strike.
Now we assume due to how he whent at H.G.'s mother he may have known the infant would love infact the hospital did say a strange man came in asking for the child they told him he died.
They tried detaining him but he escaped vanished without a trace.
Probably wandering why she didn't just take the necessary precaution to prevent having a child before its considered to most as killing.
Its because Mrs. Wells didn't want any harm done to the baby for chance it was her husband's and she was told if he dose survive he would be her last thats how much damage was done by her attacker." Camila explained as John looked at H.G. wandering if they infact resambled each other.
Camila smirked.
"I think you two could pass as half siblings.
I can see the similarities.
I think you favor your dad more, where H.G. favors his mother." Camila left him with that as she closed the door, this time leaving it unlocked.
"You know she might be right." Johnny gave a quiet laugh as he looked from John to H.G.
"Okay if you two are joining me I need to get your vutals and helth in shape, all in 24hrs.
Time is of the essence and we already waisted to much of it.
I talked to Eathan he'll accompany us he assured me you are capable of handling a sword Johnny.
Now I already know John can handle himself, you will be going with me.
Johnny Crimson is with you.
Crim said the dream Cam is living is of your childhood.
Crim feels the need to redeem himself for not stepping in all those years.
Now we can be stuck what feels like a life time but infact is mere seconds here.
Also you will not be your younger self like Cam but you will see yourself, there is no harm interacting, its you the way Cam remembers you and both in essance is Cam.
Kinda a fools game for the Evil ones, you see when they don't relize which they got Cam is actually resting.
Its funny if you think about it.
I'm not sure if Cam was able to figure it out or God's way of making his mind like that, either way it makes our job a lot more easy.
Now John.
H.G. as you assumed is an infant another ironc easier part, all you have to do is hold onto him and never let go even if your life depended on it.
Oh yeah key thing for both of you, yes you will feel pain, no you can not die. Nothing physical beyond what you can handle will harm you, its a dream, a nightmare that is all it is.
Now let's go run a few test runs and see how you do.
Camila will stay with them, infact I have prepared for the rest of your friends to stay with them so they have familiar faces when they wake up." Archer explained as he esscorted them through the hall.
That's when Johnny spotted Kay, Dina and MW.
"We figured best keep Octavia and Bellamy busy with training.
Keep this a close family thing besides they are...
Well O is too young and I figured she be more relaxed having Bellamy with her. We actually haven't told them yet what's going on." Archer explained when Johnny looked at him with a questionable look.
"Johnny...
We just heard!
Poor Cam and H.G." Dina said as she ran up and hugged Johnny with a tight squeeze than gave John a quick hug too.
"You be safe.
Wish I could join but the kid here assured me its best I'm not involved especially MW.
He fears I might reveal where people I have in witness protection could be. Turns out their kids displaced just like you and Cam were but with a happier family.
As for MW...
He think she could snap you all into well the time she had you all when you first thought you met your uncle making things worse.
Promise me you'll stay safe and get Cam out of there." Kay started to tear as Johnny brushed the escaped tear on her cheek with his thumb.
"Kay I told you, no promises." Johnny paused for a moment than let a smile apear on his face.
She playfully shoved him and started to tear up more.
He pulled her into a bear hug.
"I can promise...
I will do all I can and I will not return without my brother.
Kay promise me you'll to tell Cam I love him.
Incase I don't know something these kids don't know happens." Johnny said as he leand into her ear.
Kay pushed back so she could look up at Johnny than at Archer who wouldn't meet her gaze.
That confirmed Johnny's concern.
"Look its rare but I guess its possible... The mind is a fragile thing and we are putting our own at risk.
I have never experienced any problems but its all in the back of our minds too." Archer caved.
Even with this new found knowledge didn't make Johnny back down neither was John about to change his mind
"Oh John the results confirm that you are infact related and a postive blood match." Perky Camila said as she rushed through the hall to man her post.
