Johnny and Cam arrived home late that night after being cleared from the hospital.
Dina came to pick them up.
Everyone else was in bed by the time they got there.
Cam flopped on the couch for a moment.
He wasn't ready to go into his room yet.
As Johnny headed down the hall to his room he glanced up at now Octavia's room at the end of the hall.
Even though he knew it no longer resembled the room his psycho uncle used as a tourcher room, his stomach still flipped as he neared the door.
He peeked in on O who was sleeping pecefuly with the owl stuffed animal and the wolf...
'Wolf!?...
Oh yeah Hunter.' The large animal lifted his head and started wagging his tail as he saw Johnny.
As Johnny walked back towards his room he glanced into Cam's, the blood still stained the floor, it crushed Johnny to see so much blood.
"Dina did what she could to remove it but not all of it came up.
So figured he could use my rug." Gunter smirked weakly as he walked pass Johnny and laid the bearskin rug on the stains.
"You know all thats going to do is freak him out more." Johnny chuckled and smirked.
"I know." Gunter laughed too. After the two had a good laugh they left Cam's room heading back to their own.
"You good?" Gunter looked at Johnny with concern.
"Yeah...
Hey thanks for always being there for us." Johnny smirked.
He was referring to that Christmas eve his uncle beat the crap out of him and Gunter knocked Alexander flat.
Gunter still acted like it wasn't him as he retreated to his room.
About an hour later Johnny heard Cam go into his room.
"Come on Seriously!" Cam said loud enough for Johnny to hear but not enough to wake everyone.
"What is it darling?...
Oh...
That was thoughtful." Dina half grumbled yet pleased to see it covered the stains.
"You going to be alright darling?" Dina asked as she placed her hand gently on his shoulder.
"Yeah...
If that bear stays dead." Cam half joked as he poked it with his foot.
At some point once everyone was finally asleep.
Cam woke from a nightmare soaked in sweat.
He went to his closet got clean pj's and hoped in the shower.
As he stood in the door way of his bathroom looking at the bearskin rug he just couldn't bring himself to go near it.
The rug wasn't what bothered him, its what's under the rug that sent chills up his spine.
Cam made his way out of his room and went to Johnny's, his light was still on.
"Can't sleep either?" Cam smirked weakly from the door way.
"Nah..." Johnny said as he flipped his cover on the otherside of his bed inviting Cam to join him.
"So where you find Dina's stash of home made cookies and yoohoos?" Cam smirked as he helped himself.
"The usual.
I swear she isn't creative at hiding snacks on us." Johnny chuckled.
"Hey what you reading?" Cam took the book from him.
"Its Grandpa's journal.
Grandpa seemed to do to Alexander as Alexander did to me." Johnny said as Cam paged through the old journal.
"Wow listen to this..."
'Today the boys were playing down by the lake.
Bash came running back to the cabin he looked like he saw a ghost.
He wouldn't speak to me.
I tried to get him to tell me what happened but my poor boy was in shock.
Moments later Alexander came in his clothes cover in blood splaters.
I calmly sent young Bash up stairs with his favorite brownies I added a little something to calm his nerves along with hot chocolate and a bag of mini marshmallows.
I turned my attention back to Alexander who didn't look fazed by what ever he did.
I assumed it must have been a wild animal he protected Bash from.
Unfortunately I was wrong.
He took me to their hidout and there I saw a young girl.
She looked as if she fell from a cliff or something.
I couldn't believe my eyes.
"What happened!?" I turned to see my son looking disconnected.
"Did you do this!?
Is this why Bash is in shock?" I yelled.
He still had no reaction as to what was going on and how serious this was.
"Go get my shovel!" I ordered.
I checked to make sure.
Thats when I saw her kneck was snapped.
I wrapped her in a blanket.
"Start digging!" I ordered.
I had him dig a whole just off our property across our lake in a slight clearing of just dirt.
I knew a freh hole could be easily covered there....'
"This is a horror story!" Cam said in discuss as he handed the book back to Johnny who continued reading.
'Back at the cabin I forced Alexander to tell me what happened.
"I didn't do anything different than you would have in that situation...." Alexander snapped at me.
I punched him in the stomach and took him to the dungeon to teach him a lesson.'
"This is dad's journal dated the same day."
'Alexander and I were playing on the cliffs like dad told us not too.
There was a little girl not much older than us.
We played all day running around playing tag, hide and seek.
July got too close to the edge and lost balance as the ground gave way.
I lept to catch her but the ground kept giving way pulling us both over the edge.
"I can't pull you both up!
You have to let her go!" Alexander cried as he held onto my ankles.
"No!" I cried back.
"Please Bash you'll both die.
I can't live without you." Alexander cried back as we all three slide forward.
"I think I can stand here." July said as she found a footing in the side of the cliffs.
She pried my hands from her's.
Once she was no longer weighing me down Alexander was able to pull me up.
We both leaned over to see the ground give way under her pulling her out of reach as we all tried to reach to each other watching her fall to the ground.
(I can still hear her scream)
We made our way down to July.
We were both shocked by what we saw.
Bearly a scratch on her.
I refused to think she was dead.
Alexander assured me she was.
Terrified we get in trouble if someone found her like this Alexander carried her to our club house.
He cried the whole walk.
When Alexander took dad to her and they came back dad scolded Alexander as if he intended on killing her.
Alex didn't even try explaining to dad.
Alex took his punishment as usual.
Our dad has always been a harsh man especially with Alexander.'
"Wait he didn't do anything.
It was clearly an accident.
You think he only became the way he is now because of Grandpa?" Cam inquired.
"I don't know but now we know why dad heck even Alexander never wanted us to know Grandpa." Johnny said as he paged through the book.
"Holy Crap!...
This is when Alexander took us he knew!"
'I saw Bash's boys today on the subway with their uncle.
I can't believe how much they look like my boys at that age.
Alexander clearly took the boys from his brother.
I was surprised to see him comforting the frightened children.
One can only imagine what he did to his brother to steal those boys from their father.
Alexander can never be the fatherly type.
He took advantage of that young girl having a girl that his brother practically raised along side his boys.
Wander why he didn't take her along with the boys?'
"He clearly didn't care what Alexander was capable of doing to us." Johnny grumbled as he tossed the book on his night stand and turned his light off.
Cam follow suit he was exhausted and wanted to sleep.
