Chapter Eleven: Try-outs

I hadn't seen either one of them since that day, and it had been almost an entire week.

So when I entered my first period to see Ryder in his seat I stopped in my tracks.

He looked even better than the last time I'd seen him if that were even possible.

He looked up meeting my eyes, and clenched his jaws as his eyes slid over me.

I guess I'm not the only one that can feel the . . . well I'm not sure what you would call it.

I inhaled deeply, and continued walking to my seat which I sat on as far away from him as I could possibly get.

Which unfortunately happened to be a few inches . . .

"Are you scared to be near me kitten?" He questioned in a mocking voice, and I slowly looked over at him and shook my head.

"No." He smirked snickering as he turned to face the front of the room as I stared at the side of his head.

For some reason I didn't dislike him anymore, it was now more of a feeling of anxiousness. I want to know more about him . . .

About one minute from the bell a note was slid towards me, and I looked over at him.

'read it.' He mouthed with a smile on his face, and I rolled my eyes as I picked up the folded paper.

You need to talk to Axel. It said in surprisingly neat handwriting, and I frowned.

"Why?" I asked as I turned to look at him, and he inhaled bitting down on his lip.

The bell rung.

"Because, I don't want to repeat history. Besides he needs to explain a few things to you . . ." He said as his eyes slid over my face, my brow furrowing as I took in his every word.

"History repeating itself?" I asked, and he leaned closer to me just as the last person walked from the room.

"Your not the only one with secrets kitten." He said, and his lips brushed across my jawline as he pulled away causing me to inhale sharply from the contact.

I stared up at him for a moment before I was pulled from my thoughts by the sound of someone calling his name.

"Ryder." It was Axel of course, I mean who else would it have been with my luck involved.

"What's up bro?" Ryder asked innocently as he winked at me before walking out of the room slapping his brother in the back, which was returned by a death glare.

I swallowed the lump forming in my throat, and quickly put my things in my bag before walking from the room. "Wait!"

I sped up a bit until I was forced to stop by an arm wrapped around me from behind.

"Get off of me." I grounded out as my body tensed up at his touch.

He sighed, and leaned down to my ear. "Only if you'll listen to what I have to say."

"Fine, but you have five seconds." I told him, and he released me from his hold.

I turned to look at him as I crossed my arms pressing my lips together.

Why can't he be hideous?

"I was upset . . . and jealous of you and Jason that day in the cafeteria. It was also the day my dad died, and so I left school got drunk, and well Jenna came up to me . . . you saw the rest. But I promise we didn't have sex . . ." He explained, and I stared at him blankly.
