Epilogue

Six years later . . .

Axel Knights P.O.V

I was exceptionally exhausted today, and of course with being exhausted comes sleepiness, and I had been well on my way when there was a knock at my office door.

"What?" I barked out angrily, and my secretary poked her head into my office looking slightly shaken.

She was new, I'd had to fire my other one last week.

She was annoying, and talked non-stop.

I wasn't here for her to converse with, that was why she sat at a desk with a phone.

"Uhm, an applicant for the p.a position is here do you want me to send her in?" She squeaked out nervously as she walked into my offices, and handed me a folder.

I told my mother I didn't need an assistant. I was completely capable of taking care of myself.

Of course being who my mother is that wouldn't stop until I accepted. So running my hands over my face, I glanced down at the folder opening it as I spoke. "Send her in."

"Yes sir." I watched as she stood in my door speaking to someone before she moved out of the way, and I stared at the woman in my door in awe.

She was even more beautiful than the last time I had seen her.

Samantha Hastings made her way over to me, and I could see how nervous she was. Her long brown hair hung in loose curls surrounding her angelic face, and her vibrant green eyes stood out even more than last time I had seen her.

I could tell she hadn't recognized me yet as she sat down in the chair I motioned for her to sit in barely able to keep my serious demeanor as I looked down at her file.

I had her recent life in my hands, and I was dying to know what she had been up to.

"So, you're here for the p.a position?" I questioned staring up at her face, and she nodded staring me in the eye as she ran a hand through her hair.

I hadn't realized just how much I missed her until the moment she walked through my door. "Yes sir."

It was then that I laughed, and she looked at me in awe. "Please call me Axel."

I could see it on her face the moment it dawned on her, and her jaw appeared to literally drop, causing me to laugh hysterically.

I wasn't being very professional, but this honestly was incredible.

"Axel as in Axel Knight?" She questioned still in awe, and I composed myself smiling as she studied my face. "Oh my god! I didn't even recognize you!"

"I saw that, you calling me sir was like the icing on the cake." I said chuckling as she reached out playfully hitting me.

"How have you been?" I asked as I twirled a pen around in my hand beaming at her.

"Good, just got my bachelor's degree in business actually." She said giving me a heart warming smile, and I found myself wondering if she was dating anyone. "So how did this happen?"

Normal reaction.

"I took over for my dad, it's a family business, and my grandpa wanted to retire so I got half, Ryder got the other half. Been like this for 2 years now." I explained nodding my head as  I leaned back in my chair clasping my hands on my chest as I analyzed her face.

She seemed slightly uneasy as she stared back at me, and we were both surrounded by silence.

It seemed that even though years had gone by I could still tell what she was thinking, and we happened to be on the same page.

She was wondering if I had completely moved on, and I was wondering the same for her.

I couldn't help it, because I was honest. I had meant every word I had said to her that night all those years ago, and I was still waiting.

Hopefully not for much longer.

"So are you gonna ask me?" I asked leaning forward, and she stared at me in confusion.

"What?"

"Are you gonna ask me what I know you want to ask me?"

"Jesus, your conceited." She laughed, and I smirked shrugging.

"The names Axel, not Jesus." I watched as she blushed most likely remembering the last time I had said that to her.

"You really are something Knight." She said her voice suddenly growing serious as her eyes moved around my face.

"I know princess."
