Chapter Ten: Sunsets

I sat in silence completely ignoring the three sets of eyes that were currently glued to me.

Why can't they get a clue?

"Are you sure your alright?" Claire asked as she stared worriedly at me moving the straw to her coffee around.

Am I alright? I asked myself as I stared blankly at her my mouth slightly ajar.

I don't know am I? "Yeah, I'm great."

I could tell she thought it was complete bullshit, but like always she knew the right time to point things out like that, and right now is not one of those times.

Suddenly I felt someones presence beside me, and then I was turned to face the person.

It was Tyler.

"Are you alright?"

Why is it that they feel they should ask me that, as if I'm some stupid pitful girl who was heartbroken.

Well I'm not I knew exactly what I was getting into, and besides it's not like we were really dating.

But they don't know that.

"Why are you speaking to me?" I questioned in a strong voice as I glared at him causing him to narrow his eyes.

"Look I'm sorry okay? I shouldn't have tried to control you, but I was right he hurt you."

"Yeah, too bad no one knows what's really been going on then I would be able to argue with you." I muttered glaring down at a cold french fry on my tray.

School lunch sucks ass.

"What kind of apology is that anyways? Your still a jerk, so as far as I'm concerned this conversation never happened you can leave now." I told him, and turned back to Claire starting up a conversation completely ignoring his presence.

By the time lunch was over I was back to acting with Jason who seemed eager to do anything he could to piss Axel off who stalked out of the cafeteria causing lots of noise as he caused people to drop their trays as he shoved them from his path.

Is it weird to say that made me a small amount of happy.

Today I have to work with Ryder on an english project, and I completely dreaded ringing on their doorbell having seen both of their cars in the driveway.

Stupid teachers . . .

I silently prayed in my head that Ryder would answer so I wouldn't have to see him at all, but as my luck would have it guess who pulled open the door, and silently stared at me.

Axel-fucking-Knight . . .

I shifted awkwardly on my feet as he continued to stare at me.

"Hey." He spoke his voice coming out emotionless, and I bit down on my lip.

Why does he have to be so damned . . . sexy?

"Hey, is Ryder here?" I questioned, and he turned up his nose slightly.

He opened the door, and let me past him.

"Yeah he's in his room." He grumbled, and stalked off. "Follow me."

I did as he said struggling to keep up with his fast pace until he stopped in front of the second loft door that was red.

He slid the door open to reveal a shirtless Ryder holding a plate in his hand, and a sandwhich in between his teeth.
