~Previously~
The 3 of them sat in nervous silence as the seconds ticked by, each one seemed to ring louder and louder through the air. At that moment, Dally could only focus on one thing. The clock. He was too shocked, too scared, too tired to think of anything else. If he did, he'd go insane. All he did, was listen to the clock.
.....Tick..Tick..Tick..Tick..Tick.....
~Now~
The 3 boys sat in tired silence as the hours slipped by. Sodapop and Ponyboy had fallen asleep leaning on each other while Dally sat wide awake in his chair. He was far too nervous to fall asleep, he was used to skipping a day or two of sleep so he didn't worry about it. His past taught him quickly how to stay awake for long periods of time, he was glad it wasn't like that anymore.
Venturing away from his troubled memories of the past, Dally heard a door open followed by heavy footsteps. He looked up to see a doctor in blue-green scrubs walking down the hallway and towards the waiting room chairs. He recognized the flaming red hair instantly. Dally knew it was Dr. Valance, Cherry's father, from before. The same doctor who treated Darry during the roofing accident at the Sheldon residence. As Dr. Valance walked up to Dally, he rushed to his feet.
"How is he?" Dally had asked. He didn't even notice the tiredness and worry laced in his voice when he spoke. It was a rarity for the young hood, to care about someone like he did to Darry. But that was all what people thought of him. Dr. Valance looked into Dally's eyes before averting his attention to a clipboard in his hands.
"He's doing just fine. There wasn't anything new with the babies, twin A still has the heart issue from before but it thankfully seems to be resolving itself. Darryl had early appendicitis. It was a simple surgery with no complications. He should be discharged in a few days." He explained, a reassuring look in his eyes that would calm any soul. Dally placed a hand over his chest as he let out a relieved sigh. He glanced back at the 2 brothers asleep in their chairs before looking back at Dr. Valance.
"Can I see him?" He asked, eagerness in his tired, ice blue eyes. Dr. Valance smiled warmly at Dallas and nodded his head. He seemed like a very nice man, all of the Valance's were nice Socs it seemed.
"Yes, he's in room 389. He should be waking up soon." He informed. Dally nodded and watched as Dr. Valance turned around and walked down the hall. He spun around and shook the 2 boys awake, anxious and excited to see with his own eyes if his boyfriend was alright.
"Soda, Pony. Guys, go home. Darry's fine and the babies are fine. You can see him later when you've slept for a little while longer." Dally said. Both boys yawned and stretched as they stood up from the uncomfortable plastic chairs. Soda was handed the keys as the 2 of them stood. He waited for them to leave, his only reassurance knowing they'd be alright for a few hours on their own. Dally watched and made sure Soda and Pony left before he rushed down the hallways to Darry's room.
'385...386...387...388...389! That's it!' He thought. Dally stepped up to the door and softly turned the handle. He opened the door. When he did, he saw Darry was still asleep as he laid in bed. Dally softly shut the door behind him and walked over to Darry. As he sat in the chair next to the bed Darry began to stir.

..Beep..Beep..Beep..
I could hear the heart monitor as I started to wake up, it was loud and annoying and I didn't like it. I opened my eyes, only to shut them from the bright lights shinning straight into my eyes.
"Someone turn those light off." I muttered, my eyes squeezed shut.
"Sorry." He said, quickly flicking off the light switch that was near the door. I didn't worry about a man being in my room, I knew exactly who it was.
"Hey Dally." I said, a calm smile on my face. I opened my eyes to see him smiling back at me, the lamp in the room shining against his face. He caught me in a kiss, gently holding me in place. I smiled and kissed back just as hard before we both pulled away.
"I was so worried." He muttered, looking into my eyes. I slowly shut my eyes as he sifted a hand through my hair, something both of us liked.
"Have you heard from the doctor yet?" I asked. Since I just woke up I didn't see him yet and I was scared to know if something was wrong. I opened my eyes just in time to see Dally nod his head, a smile was on his face. That calmed down my nerves immensely.
"I have. He said you only had appendicitis and the babies are fine. Daisy's heart problem is starting to fix itself! Can you believe it!" He told me, he sounded just as relieved as I was. I let out an audible sigh of relief before I pulled Dally back into a happy kiss. This time he pulled away. I looked at him confused until he reached into his pocket.
On instinct my hands went over my mouth as I watched Dally pull out a small black box from his pocket. He opened the box, showing a ring and started to talk. It was simple, I knew it was the only one he could afford. But that didn't matter to me. To me it was still just as amazing. It was a sliver band with grooves on the outside of it, the ring shone perfectly in the light.
"It may not be the best timing but, Darry, I've loved you for so long now. When you told me you were pregnant I almost cried of happiness, I never want to be away from you. You've changed me for the better and I can't imagine life without you. So what I'm saying is.....Darry, will you marry me?" He said. His eyes had so much passion in them that I thought they weren't his for a minute. I nodded frantically as tears of joy ran down my face.
"Yes! A thousand times yes!" I said, my voice was cracking from crying but I didn't care. I kissed Dally hard and passionate as I scooted in the bed. We slept in the same bed in each other's arms. I remember falling asleep with a big goofy smile on my face, Dally had the same. It was one of the happiest days of my life.
