"Darry, I left when you fell asleep. I'm coming once visiting hours open up, but remember I'll always love you.     Dally" he set it on the table beside the hospital bed and kissed Darry's cheek. He checked on Dash and made sure he was alright before leaving, making sure to shut the door softly. That night was confusing for all 7 of them, on 1 hand they felt relieved Daisy was going to be alright, but on the other, they were heartbroken Darry couldn't see his daughter, she was already 3 hours old. But they knew it would all be okay, it had to.

~Now~

I read the note Dally left me and smiled to myself, he was always there to tell me he loved me. He was so nice to me, I knew I'd never deserve him, he deserves someone a whole lot better than me. The room was somewhat silent, the clock ticked by, Dash shifted in his sleep every other minute, and I'm assuming my snoring when I was still asleep. There wasn't much time for it to be that silent however, I've learned over my life time that I've never had a moment without any noise. Dash started to fuss and soon enough his cries filled the room, he was now officially a day old. I got out from under the blanket and swung my legs over the side of the bed, when I tried to get up I was still too weak, I fell back onto the bed. To my luck, they didn't put Dash too far from the bed. I picked him up and concluded that he needed to be fed, his diaper didn't feel full and there wasn't much else he needed until he was older. I pulled down the front of the hospital gown they gave me and held him closer, he latched on almost immediately and started to suckle. I rocked him as he ate, it was an odd feeling but it didn't bother me much. There was a knock at the door.

"Come in." I called softly, glancing down to see Dash still eating. I looked back up and saw Dally walk in, his clothes were a little dirty but I could tell he changed his shirt before he got here. Working on a farm is hard work, it wasn't a big surprise his clothes wouldn't be the cleanest when he got home.

"Hey love." He said, he looked at me then down at Dash eating and then back up at me. His eyes showed so much joy I didn't even know if it was still Dally I was looking at, but his face said another story, he looked beyond tired, we both were.

"When you're done feeding Dash Violet said we could go and see Daisy." He told me, I almost jumped in my place I was so excited. I looked down again and saw that Dash was falling asleep and was just about finished eating. I made sure he was done before I pulled my gown back up and laid him back in his little bed. In that moment I realized just how perfect he was. His thick blond hair, his teal eyes, he was and always will be perfect.

"We should take turns, incase Dash wakes up." I said, even if we wanted to see Daisy at the same time I don't think we could just waltz around with a newborn around the hospital. Besides, he seemed so small, like if I made the slightest wrong move he'd break in 2. Dally looked down at Dash and smiled, petting his pink chubby cheek. He looked up at me and sighed.

"You should go see her first, she needs her mother after being apart for a little while." He said, I knew he wanted to see Daisy just as bad. Dally was always so selfless when he shouldn't be, but that's Dally for you. He seemed like a tough no-good hood, but he was so much more to him.

"Alright. Are you sure you'll be good while I'm gone?" I asked. In all honesty I didn't know how much experience Dally had with kids, not to mention a 1 day old newborn. He picked Dash up when he started to whine and bounced lightly while holding him close to his chest and rubbed his back. That alone shocked me, I've never seen Dally act like this around a child.

"We'll be fine, go and see our daughter." Dally said, he was the nicest thing to me even if I was an asshole from either work, stress, anxiety or pregnancy. I kissed his lips and made sure I didn't look homeless before making my trip to the NICU.

••••••••••••

Darry walked down the hallway, catching glimpses of other people through open doors. He stopped at the entrance to the NICU, he was scared about what he might see. He walked through the doors to see incubators upon incubators filled with sick and recovering babies. New parents sat beside the incubators and touched their children through the small arm hole or holding them trying not to tangle the wires that were attached to their skin. The sight brought an odd feeling throughout the air, a mixture of worry, pity, relief and hope. It was strange to see and feel all of those at once, but this place meant different things to different people for different reasons.

"I'm assuming you're here for Daisy?" Violet said, nearly scaring Darry to death. He turned around and looked down at Violet.

"Ya....there are so many here..." He trailed off, astonished at the amount of sick babies that were born all of the time.

"Sadly yes, it's a hard job, being a nurse with babies and all." She said, her tone of depression added to the room. Darry looked around the room until his eyes landed on an incubator in the far corner of the room. Above it said "Daisy Amber Winston", inside laid a small baby wrapped in a light baby pink blanket with a matching cap. The 2 walked over to the incubator, stopping beside it. Violet opened the top and gently picked up Daisy, handing her to her mother.

"Hey, baby..." He muttered, looking down at his daughter as she looked up at him with Dally's ice blue eyes. She had Darry's dark red-brown hair, Dally's eyes and Dally's pale skin, to Darry she and Dash were the definition of perfect.

"The doctors say she'll leave the NICU in a few hours. They want to make sure she's stable and going to stay that way." Violet stated, she kept her voice soft. Darry looked up from Daisy in his arms and met Violet's brown eyes.

"Thank God, I don't know what I'd do if I had to leave her in here for another night." Darry muttered, his gaze fixed on his daughter. Violet smiled at Darry before she looked behind him, there stood Dally with their son resting against his chest. She quickly looked back to Darry.

"I think there's someone who wants to see her, too." She hinted, she smiled happily and warmly at the 2 boys before heading back to do other parts of her job, leaving them with their babies. Darry turned around and smiled, surrounded by the 3 people he loved with all of his heart.
