~Previously~

I opened the front door and shut it softly behind me with my back turned to the rest of the house. I flipped the light switch on with my elbow to see no one in the house and a note taped to the wall.

"Now something's got to be up." I said to no one but myself.

~Now~

Darry stared at the note, wandering through different scenarios in his mind. He walked up to the wall with the note and stared at it, not really reading the words but scanning over it. The entire situation confused Darry. Each question he thought of just made more questions he knew wouldn't be answered right away. Maybe even never answered.

'Why on Earth did they leave a note when they could have called the hospital and leave a message? What could be so important that they had to leave right this second? How long've they been gone? When and why exactly did they leave? And just why?' Darry shook his head to rid of the headache he was beginning to give himself from over thinking. Remembering he was still holding the twins, Darry walked past the note and into the nursery with 2 dozing off babies in his arms. He would deal with the note later.

Darry pushed the door open with his back and slowly turned to face the two cribs beside each other. The boy laid his daughter in her crib to change his son's diaper before he tended to her. As Darry finished and buttoned Dash's onesie back to it's original state, Daisy began to whimper. Darry bounce-walked with Dash in his arms and laid the half asleep infant in his crib next to his stuffed lion. He softly kissed his son's forehead before he quickly turned around and tended to Daisy.

As he softly cooed to her, Darry made his way across the room and sat in the rocking chair. Lifting his shirt and bringing Daisy close, he let his mind wander once again as he fed his daughter for the time being.

                           ************

When Daisy was finished eating I pulled down my shirt and made sure I had a spit up rag when I burped her. I leaned her over my shoulder and continued to pat her back until I heard a little burp come from her. Luckily she didn't spit up this time since she's older, she'll most likely do it later the next day or something. She seemed more awake than her brother was, I guess she wanted to spend more time with Dally since they don't see him as much anymore.

I cradled her as I rocked in the chair trying to get her to fall asleep like her brother did. I stared into her drooping eyes that looked exactly like mine and smiled softly, petting her chubby cheek with my thumb. She soon fluttered her eyes shut and her breaths evened out, her chest rising and falling slightly.

Slowly, I stood up with Daisy close to my chest and walked across the room to her crib. Carefully, I laid her beside the stuffed bunny she got when she was born and kissed her forehead as well. They were so cute when they slept. I stood there for a moment or two, just admiring how much they looked like Dally and I. Daisy's hair was starting to turn to a dirty blonde color, a mixture of both my hair and Dally's. Dash's eyes were turning into a mixture of mine and Dally's eyes, a rare and beautiful ice-teal color. They looked so much like us it was weird, a perfect mixture of different traits for each baby.

Glancing at the clock in their room, I noticed it was only around 9:30 at night. Late for the twins but early for me. Figuring I should catch up on house work, I made my way to the door and avoided the squeaky spot in front of the door and closed it to a crack.

************

Darry walked through the house and opened the closet with the cleaning supplies. Darry grabbed the mop and bucket and figured he would start on the kitchen since it was the dirtiest.

Slowly the house began to look cleaner and cleaner. The floors were mopped, carpet was vacuumed and luckily didn't wake the twins in the process. His, the twins', Dally's and his brothers' clothes were either washed and folded or being washed. The house was dusted for the first time since the twins were born. Darry even looked at adds to buy a new couch they desperately needed.

When Darry was finished, he wiped the small amount of sweat that accumulated on his forehead and stared at the clock. 11:50. Only 2 hours and 20 minutes of cleaning.

'Not bad.' Darry thought. He gathered what cleaning supplies were still out and put them in their original place in the closet. As Darry securely shut and locked the closet door, the buzzer on the dryer went off. Darry walked into the room to switch what was left of the laundry from the washing machine into the dryer. Darry took the clothes out of the dryer and set them aside while he placed the wet clothes in the the machine. He carried the basket full of his and Dally clothes with him into their bedroom.

He quickly folded their clothes and put them in the drawers they belonged to before he gathered what he needed for a much needed shower. Darry stopped in his tracks and stood still, the feeling like he forgot something lingered in the room.

"The note..." Darry muttered to himself, running a hand tiredly through his slightly greasy hair. The boy walked out of his room and made his way to the note that was still taped to the wall in the living room. Carefully, he pulled it off of the wall and began to read. He noticed the hand writing wasn't as nice but was still readable.

Darry-
The rest of the gang and I went to do something, we'll be back early tomorrow morning. What we're doing might get us in trouble if we're caught so stay in the house unless you absolutely need to leave. Stay safe.

He stared at the note with wide eyes, gripping it tightly in his hands to the point where the paper crinkled slightly. He was flabbergasted, and not in the good way.

"What did you guys get yourselves into?..." Darry muttered, a foreboding feeling quickly overpowering any other feeling he had previously. Sighing heavily, Darry made his way back to his room with the note still in his hand. The boy laid the note carelessly on his nightstand before he continued to gather the things he needed for that shower.

Darry walked out of the slightly steamy bathroom half an hour later, ruffling a towel through his wet hair. By now it was 12:20 in the morning. He ruffled his hair in the towel one last time before he tiredly and carelessly tossed his towel on the dresser he and Dally shared. Slowly, he climbed underneath the covers and closed his eyes. He listened to his surroundings as he slowly drifted to sleep, that foreboding feeling never once leaving him.

'Something bad's gonna happen, I just know it.' Was the last thing going through Darry's head before he fell into a deep sleep.
