~Previously~

Darry walked out of the slightly steamy bathroom half an hour later, ruffling a towel through his wet hair. By now it was 12:20 in the morning. He ruffled his hair in the towel one last time before he tiredly and carelessly tossed his towel on the dresser he and Dally shared. Slowly, he climbed underneath the covers and closed his eyes. He listened to his surroundings as he slowly drifted to sleep, that foreboding feeling never once leaving him.

'Something bad's gonna happen, I just know it.' Was the last thing going through Darry's head before he fell into a deep sleep.

~Now~

I woke up around 4:00 in the morning to footsteps and loud whispering, this annoyed me since I was only asleep for 4 and a half hours. I sighed softly and rubbed my eyes as I sat up. Tiredly, I pulled the blanket off of me and pulled my pajama pants on. As I walked to the door, I heard what sounded like everyone else in the gang whispering to each other in the living room. Carefully, I opened the door gradually to avoid the creaking and made my way down the dark hallway.

The room was dark with only the street lights peeking through the windows to barely light up the room. Sneakily, I lightly walked to the light switch right outside the doorway while I made sure I wasn't spotted. Luckily they were too drawn into their conversation to notice. I flipped the light on and leaned against the doorway as I crossed my arms. In return, I got 5 pairs of wide eyes starring at me. I stared back lazily with hooded eyes.

"You 5 have a lot of explaining to do."

                            ************

I woke up at around 4:00 in the morning to a nurse opening that creaky door and loudly turning on the lights.

'This hospital has got to fix their doors.' I thought. As the door closed, I groaned and squinted my eyes even further shut despite the fact they were already shut.

"I'm sorry to wake you, Dally, but I need to write down your vitals for Dr. Adams when he does rounds." Cathleen told me. She was a nice nurse, the only one that really took the time to get to know me during my stays in the past. Sighing I sat up and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes before I looked up at her. She didn't look as tired anymore, I guess that's how her schedule works. Work 48 hours, go home for a day or 2 and then come back to do it all over again. That seems like Hell.

"It's fine." I yawned. Slightly stretching since I didn't want to rip my stitches out. When she checked everything she needed to check I wandered through all of my thoughts. I thought about how just a few short months ago Darry and I were in the NICU standing over Daisy's incubator. Just a few short months ago we were taking them home, having our first sleepless night, our first everything. And now, we'll now they're starting to crawl and move around more, they can sit up by themselves, they'll even be able to say stuff in a few more months.

"The twins really are gettin' big, aren't they." I stated. I remembered that when Daisy was in the NICU she had Cathleen as a nurse, she's good at her job. She smiled at me and hummed in agreement.

"They really are. I remember one time I crossed paths with Darry when the twins got their vaccines. Time really does fly by." She said. I nodded at her words, looking at my calloused hands when a question came into my mind.

"Cathleen..." I started. She looked at me and raised her eyes brows in interest. "What type of nurse are you?"

Cathleen looked at me funny for a moment. "What do mean?" She continued to write things down as she talked.
