There was no way Percy was going to be beat. After years at the Olympian Boxing Camp, he had become the best one there. Now the whole team was going to nationals with Percy as their captain.

"Alright team, listen up!" he yelled. "Go look at your matches on the board and come back and tell me so I can write them down," He shook his black hair out of his face and smiled. They've got this one in the bag. No one had beaten them in six years.

"That's him!" one kid whispered. The other nodded fervently. "I heard he's gonna go against Kronos,"

Percy smirk faded into a grimace. Kronos was the top in the class and Percy had just moved up a weight class. It looks like they were looking to pit the newbie to the class and the old champ against one another.

"Hey Percy!" his friend, Leo, called. "Good luck beating Godzilla!" The smaller boy gave a salute then bounded off to where his girlfriend, Calypso, stood.

He sighed. There was a chance he could manage to beat Kronos, but it was slim. Jason, Leo, Frank, Grover, Nico, Will, and the Stolls were all evenly matched. The younger kids were all practically at each other's level.

His team surrounded him and began shouting out matches for him to record. "Pipe down! Chiron needs these in order so line up,"

Jason stepped forward "Luke Castellean or something,". Next was Frank "Uhh some girl named Clarisse,". Then Leo "This girl named Hestia,". Then Will, Nico, and so on until everyone had finished.

Suddenly, there was a huge roar in the crowd. Everyone surged forward and Percy jostled for a look. All around him were chants of Fight! Fight! Fight! Eventually, he forced his way through the crowd and saw a lump of judges and someone passed out with medics around him.

"Look! Someone beat up Kronos!" the sweaty guy beside him said. "I wonder who it was,"

Percy gasped. His opponent was being lifted off in a stretcher. How was he supposed to fight now? Slowly the judges and security peeled off of the guy who had beaten up the toughest competitor.

As soon as they were fully visible, the crowd began to roar. Not just cheering, but an earth shaking roar. The blond wiped blood off their mouth and spun around, hyping up the crowd. Percy nearly passed out when he saw who it was. It was a blond girl in a sports bra and workout shorts. She couldn't have been more than seventeen.

"Next time, that fat lump will think TWICE before disrespecting a girl!" she yelled and threw up her arms. The crowd howled in response and every hope of order was lost.

The sweaty guy looked up at Percy. "Hey! Aren't you the guy who was gonna fight 'em?" He squinted hard like he couldn't quite remember.

"Yes sir I am," Percy replied with a hint of pride. He was set with the biggest opponent.

Sweaty turned around and hollered, "This dude was gonna fight Kronos! Let 'em at the girl!" The green eyed boy was swept off his feet and was carried across the crowd to a circle of clear space in the center. Security, trainers, and judges were yelling for order but it was a lost cause. The crowd wanted a fight.

Percy stumbled to his feet and faced the imposing girl. Her eyes were an intense gray and she studied him like a hawk. "What's your name?" she asked.

Brushing off his knees, he said, "Percy Jackson,"

She quirked and eyebrow. "The famous Perseus Jackson. Well, how do you think I will size up?" The crowd snickered at her response. She spun to face the crowd. "And what's my name?"

They all yelled two words. Annabeth Chase. All the blood drained from Percy's face. She wasn't some ditzy blond. She was a world class fighter, won world titles in the junior women's class five years in a row, toured in Europe, Asia, and America. She was not to be challenged.

Percy began to walk backwards. "Look, I don't want to fight. Let's just-" He was cut off by Annabeth grabbing a hold of his shirt.

"Look kelp head. We're going to have a riot on our hands if they don't see punches. So grow a pair of ovaries and fight me," she growled. He gulped and squeaked out an okay and started loosening up his arms.

Bam! Annabeth gave him a warning punch to his shoulder. With a piercing look, she waltzed over to the opposite corner. Percy studied her stance. Confident, yet tensed and ready. The crowd roared go and they begun.

The two circled each other, sizing their opponent up. The bam bam Annabeth slid on her knees and delivered two solid punches to one of his thighs. It struck a literal nerve and made his leg go tingly.

Percy pretended to nurse his leg then swung with an uppercut and clipped Annabeth's jaw. She grunted and swung at him again. All of his training came flooding back and his nerves faded. Cross, cross, jab, duck, punch, duck, jab. Around and around they went. Neither gaining ground or loosing some.

Annabeth landed a hard blow to his side and he retaliated with a quick but powerful jab on the shoulder. The crowd was going wild. Percy swung again and hit an open spot on her guard. Percy paused, confused why a pro would leave a spot like that when a glove swung around and connected with his temple.

The world spun and everything turned fuzzy. It was like the stadium was covered in cotton. Percy stumbled and dropped to his knees. Through the haze, he could see Annabeth crouch down to see him.

"Sorry," she whispered. Then, something small and papery slipped into his glove. "If you ever want a rematch, there's my number," Then his sight tunneled and he blacked out.
