"Perfect New York City weather," Percy muttered as the wind whips his scarf sideways. "Where is that gosh be darned cocoa stand when you need it?"

Usually there was a small Ambrosia and Co. stand on Percy's route to work. But today there was no sign of it. He sighed and trudged on through the snow. It was almost another three blocks until he spotted the little cart.

"Hey! Grover!" he yelled. "Why weren't you parked in-" Percy stopped short as an employee who was most certainly not Grover scowled at him.

The girl had blond hair, grey eyes, and was bundled up in so many layers she looked like a marshmallow. But that didn't make her less intimidating as she glared at him. "I don't know who you are but can I help you with something?"

Percy frowned. Usually Grover worked here. Who was this blond girl and why did she have Grover's job? "Look lady, I'm just looking for my friend who usually works here. No need to get all upset."

"Oh, Grover got promoted so he doesn't work this stand anymore," she said, burrowing further in her layers as another wind blast whisked by. "Do you want a hot chocolate?"

The boy shook snow out of his hat and nodded. "With peppermint please," The girl smiled a little at that.

"What's hot cocoa without peppermint right?" she smirked. "My name's Annabeth, by the way. What's yours?"

"Percy Jackson," he says and gratefully accepts the cup of warm chocolate and milk. "Will you be here from now on?" Percy leaned casually against the wall of the stand and sipped his drink.

Annabeth leaned forward so they could talk and in turn shivered at the wind. "Y-yeah I'm the new worker for this stand," she chattered.

Percy frowned and saw the she didn't have a hat or scarf on, just several jackets and a pair of gloves. "Why don't you have a hat or scarf?"

Her cheeks flushed and she shivered violently. "It was just a crazy morning. Some of my stuff probably still hasn't been moved out," Her gray eyes widened a bit when she realized what she said would trigger questions.

"Moved out from where?" Percy asked. Now he was a tiny bit concerned. "And here, you're going to freeze without more clothes," He unwrapped his blue scarf and handed it to her.

Annabeth tried to back away. "No r-really it's fine! I-I'm not c-cold," But when Percy insisted, she gave in and wrapped it around her neck nodded her thanks. But when she leaned out to hand him the change, a gust of wind blew a flurry of snow into her hair.

"And now you're going to need my hat," Percy said with a laugh. His hat was blue striped with little waves on it. "It's really warm and you won't want snow getting all up in your hair," Annabeth really needed that hat but politely refused.

"I insist!" Percy said, plunking the hat on her head. Blush darkened Annabeth's cheeks as she muttered thanks to him.

"So i'll see you tomorrow?" Percy asked, his green eyes shining.

Annabeth nodded. "Same time, same place,"
