Go Back to Sleep - Angst

Moonlight was still shining through the shutters when Percy got out of bed. He dressed quietly and sat at his desk. Was he really going to go through with this? Yes, he was. Exhausted, he dipped the pen into the inkwell and began writing. 

Not to long after he began, Percy felt soft hands slide around his back. "Percy, come back to sleep." It was Annabeth, her voice thick with tiredness.

His jaw clenched. "I have an early meeting out of town."

She yawned and snuggled closer against him. "It's still dark outside."

"I know," Percy leaned into her sweet touch. "I just need to write something down."

Sadness crept into Annabeth's voice. "Why do you write like you're running out of time?"

"Shh" Percy said gently to his wife. 

"Come back to bed," the blond hummed. "that would be enough."

Percy folded up the letter and didn't meet her stormy eyes. "I'll be back before you know i'm gone."

"Come back to sleep." Annabeth pleaded and tugged on his hand. For a split second, Percy wondered what would happen if he did just go back to sleep. But he knew he couldn't.

"This meeting's at dawn."

His wife huffed. "Well i'm going back to sleep." She gave one last squeeze then reluctantly let go. 

Percy started toward the door but paused. "Hey," he called gently. Annabeth turned around. His green eyes met hers and he knew that this was his entire world. His life, his love, his Annie. 

Then he cleared his throat and smiled at his wife. "Best of wives and best of women."

Okay guys this made me cry and now im thinking of doing a Hamilton au with Percy Jackson characters

This song is Best of Wives and Best of Women from Hamilton tbh such an underrated song but i love it anyway. Have an exciting, fun-filled, exhilarating, heart racing , blessed day lovelies
