Willow tried hard to keep her emotions in check and not cuss anybody out, but it got harder with each word that came out of Azalea's aunt mouth. She literally sat up there on the stand, and lied her ass off on how she's treated Azalea. Her lawyer rested a reassuring hand on Willow's shoulder, hoping to calm her shaking leg. Willow gave her a smile and took a deep breath.
"Mrs. Earnest, Ms. Wilson here says that you've verbally abused Azalea before, even in her presence. Could that be because she had a verbally abusive mother herself growing up?" The lawyer asked. Willow widened her eyes as her lawyer stood up to object. She turned her eyes to Azalea's aunt, where she was smirking at her. The judge dismissed her lawyer's objection and motioned for the defendant lawyer to continue.
"You may answer the question Mrs. Earnest," She took a glance at Willow, then cleared her throat.
"Honestly, I think that might have been the case. I did nothing but care for Azalea after my sister died of cancer, and sometimes with children you have to get assertive with them. Azalea is not a bad child, but she could get disrespectful and I had to nip that in the bud." Willow rolled her eyes.
"First of all," She leaned into her lawyer's ear. "Azalea's mother and father abandoned her, which led Gina to be the next line of kin to adopt her." Her lawyer frowned, and immediately started rummaging through her notes. She searched high and low before the case for any information pertaining to how Azalea ended up in her aunt's care, but the slate was wiped clean.
"How do you know that for sure?" She whispered back to Willow. "I don't have any evidence to support that."
"Azalea told me herself. She told me the name of mother also."
"Well, okay." She peeked at the jury, seeing that all their attention was on the defendant. "We may not win this day, but next time, please give and tell me everything about the background of Azalea?" Willow nodded. She still couldn't believe that Gina was sitting on the stand, lying out of her mouth.

Willow was making her way to her car after trail ended when she heard someone call her name. Whipping her head around to the familiar voice, Willow frowned at them. "Yes?"
"You think what you're doing is right huh," Gina spoke, chuckling. "But what you don't know is that you're on the road of ruining my life." Willow furrowed her brows.
"Ruining your life? What do you think you're doing to Azalea then?" She questioned. Gina sighed heavily and shook her head.
"You just don't understand! Azalea is none of your business to start with, but no you just had to be fucking superwoman didn't ya?!" Willow rolled her eyes, not understanding Gina's hatred towards her.
"I don't know what you're hiding, or why you would want to put a innocent child through this but sooner or later, I'm gonna figure it out." Gina didn't reply so Willow walked away and got into her car. She snuck a glance at Gina, who was staring at her, and reached over to lock her door. Breaking eye contact, Willow started her car and immediately drove off.
—
"She called you a what?!" Mrs. Roark yelled through the phone. Willow grimaced and moved the phone away from her ear.
"A fake suicidal whore and please don't make me say it again, it hurts when I do." She stated, picked at a waffle fry.
Mrs. Roark shook her head and chuckled. "Okay, my bad. I just don't understand how someone could say that to a person? Are you sure you didn't do nothing to her?""I'm really sure Mrs. Roark. I was nothing but respectful and nice to her but she just has her head set out to drive me away from Odell." Willow answered. Saying his name reminded her that she hasn't spoke to him since she left New York.
"Speaking of Odell, how are you guys doing after all this?" She sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose.
"I believed when he told me he didn't tell her anything, but I haven't spoke to him since I left."
"Hm, why is that?" She asked.
"Because," Willow took a second to breath. "Her words just really hurt Mrs. Roark and to know that she thinks of me that way hurts also because, she's important and important to Odell." Mrs. Roark poked out her bottom lip when she heard Willow's voice crack.
"I was doing good, recovering great from that period and I just when I thought I was doing so good she brings it back up. Now look at me, a piece of stressed mess who can't keep her feelings in check." Willow sighed hard and harshly wiped from underneath her eyes. She threw away her food and rushed back to her car.
"Willow honey, listen to me. Nobody of whatever caliber has the right to say what she said to you. She obviously just cannot let go of her baby boy, which isn't a baby anymore. It's a good thing that Odell notices your discomfort and that he's making the steps to prevent anything else happening." She said. Willow sighed and sniffed her nose.
"I hear you Mrs. Roark, and I'm going to work on it I promise." She felt her phone vibrating and saw that Odell was calling. "Sorry Mrs. Roark, it's Odell calling me."
"Oh honey, talk to that boy. I'm pretty sure he misses you."
Willow smiled and shook her head. "Miss is an understatement. I'll talk to you later," She pressed another button on her phone. "Hey Dell."
Odell sighed, still not hearing the excitement in her voice. "Hey babygirl, how did court go?"
"Uh, well the aunt lied her ass off today so, no progress yet." Willow rolled her eyes and sniffed.
"Willow, are you crying?" He asked, almost about to start crying himself. Knowing that it affected her this much just made the dislike grow stronger towards his mother. "I'm really sorry babe, I'm sorry for everything that happened." She chuckled and grabbed a tissue from the console of the car.
"I was crying before, but I'm not now. I accept your apology Dell and I'm sorry myself. I just let my emotions get carried away and I'm sorry for not calling you back. I uh, love and really miss you baby boy." Her voice started cracking and the tears tried coming back.
"Willow, I'll be there either tonight or early tomorrow morning and don't try to stop me because I'm coming anyway." Odell stated, walking out of the locker room. "You don't have to apologize fa nuthin' you hear? That was my mother being ignorant and it won't happen again." Willow didn't have the energy to try and stop him.
"Thanks Dell, I really appreciate it." Thanking him was the only way she could respond.
"It's anything for you babygirl, don't forget it."
