It's been over two weeks since I went over to Maddox's house to get my notebooks from him. It's also been two weeks since Maddox's been to school. There's something that I'm missing about him, but I can't get caught up on some mysterious guy.

"Hey, hey get out of that head of yours Knight and get back to work." My boss Rayna pats my back while walking past me.

"Oh I'm sorry." If you haven't figured it out I'm at work, and today has been slow so my minds been wandering. The end of my shift comes quick and I couldn't be more then relieved to be able to go home. Mom won't be there and Malcom will be out since it's already pass seven.

Leaving work I walk down a few shops into a grocery store. It's Wednesday which means the hot wings are on sale. You know wing Wednesday and all. Wondering down the isles I look for a few more things I can take home that can hold me off for the rest of the week. I always try to spend less then 100$ of groceries a week.

I eat cheap so most of my check can go in the bank just incase i don't get a scholarship. I'm still short from having enough to be able to pay for it in full but I'll get there. Once summer hits I'll get as many jobs I have to in order to have what I need for college. That comes first no matter what.

College...

Waiting in line at check out I'm exhausted and frustrated. The guy two people in front of me has been fighting with the cashier for over fifteen minutes over his card being declined. Just fucking leave your card was declined 20x by now Jesus. Some of us have places we want to get.

"Damn this guys pissing me off." A voice from behind me says, and I can't help but reply. "Ugh I know I'm over it I'm about to leave my stuff and go already." Having not gotten a buggy for everything I got I'm carrying it in my arms trying not to drop anything.

Even though my arms are dead. "Here let me help you." Hands reach for some of the things I've got in my embrace. "Oh no that's okay I got it." Looking up from the hands the owner is what surprises me.

"No I'm definitely fine Maddox I don't need your help." For some reason the sight of him made me mad. Maybe it was because how he didn't give me my notebooks when I told him to. Or when I went to get them he shoved them into me and kicked me out.

So maybe I have a sour spot for him. That's ok thought right I can feel sour if want to. Right?

"Just let me help you. Why are you so stubborn?" Attempting to grab at my stuff again I turn away from his hands. The end result of that was heartbreaking. When I turned my body away, my hot wings went flying and dumped all over the floor.

"I'm sorry." Maddox was quick to say it too he's lucky he even apologized because in that very moment I was going to wring his neck. Slowly turning my head to look at him in the eyes I glare at him. "I hate you." I put the rest of the stuff in my arms on the shelf next to me and leave a 20$ for the wings too. Storming out I check my phone.

Shit. I'm about to miss my bus. Just as I run out the grocery store doors the #9 bus passes. Fucking hell. Can this afternoon get any worse? I just wanted wings. As if the universe heard me. Boom just like that the crash of thunder sounds and rain starts pouring down.

Just freaking wonderful... ugh practically dragging myself almost all the way home I stop at the bus stop around the corner. It's the only one on the whole way home that has a way to get out of the rain.

My phone died about half way to where I am now and when it did die my mind began to race. What if I get kidnaped or worse and no one could get ahold of me. Oh wait I don't have anyone who cares about me enough to report me missing. Well okay maybe Adrianna would. No she definitely would.

Right?

Standing under the sheltered bus stop I watch a couple cars pass by. That's till one stops in front of me. As the passenger side window rolls down my face contours from a friendly smile and happy. To frown and anger.

"Hey I bought the stuff you needed and a lot extra. I'm trying to make up for the wings. Will you let me help you at least put it way?" Well damn I definitely didn't think he would do something like that. That's pretty nice of him. "You didn't have to get extra. I just wanted the wings man."

Right when I say that he reaches in the back seat and grabs something. The containers shape and size is the same of the wings I was going to buy. He got me wings!

"I got those too." Looking left and right on the street I run to his car not trying to get soaked by the rain again. I don't think I've ever been so fast getting in a vehicle. "Ok you're semi-forgiven. Almost all the way but not yet. The wings really helped you out there."

He drives around the corner to my house and I tell him to park a couple houses down, because of Malcom. Just in case. Maddox carries the majority of the bags as I fight for the right key on my key chain. I should really get rid of the old ones. The door creaks just a little as I shove it open enough for the both of us.
