Parking in the very back of the schools parking lot since I'm late I groan as I unbuckle my seatbelt. This shit sucks I had to tell her I'd come to school today. She probably won't even notice we only have two or was it three classes together anyways.

By the time I make it inside the second period bell rings and everyone flushes out of the halls and into their designated classes. Turning the corner of the hall I jump a little when I see someone else in the hall and relief because my eyes didn't play a trick on me. I come to realize it's Ivy.

For someone who is super into school and keeping very detailed notes I would have expected her to be in class already. I wonder why she isn't. I don't have time for this I'll see her in science anyways. Turning around before she can see me I round the same corner I just passed.

Second and third fly by faster then I expected and lunch rolls around. As I wonder around the field I hear one of the jocks cat call someone making my head snap up from looking at the weirdly painted green grass. When my eyes see who it my stomach twists.

"Hey what the hell do you think you're doing?" I shout at the guy who only ignores me and does it again. Rolling my eyes I stroll up to him. Shoving him he throws his hands up at me but walks away.

"You didn't have to do that." a small voice says walking up to me. The girl is about average height not too tall or too short, she's curvy, has long dark drown hair, olive skin most likely hispanic. Extending her hand out I stare at it for a moment before taking it. "Im Adrianna."

"Maddox." I reply looking away from her trying to see if Ivy is anywhere to be seen. "You scared her off." she pauses a minute looking away for a quick second before continuing. "Ivy is who you're looking for right."

Its more of a statement then it is a question nodding her head looking around as well Adrianna speaks up again. "We eat lunch out here all the time. And the kid you shoved has whistled at her everyday for the past two years."

"Why?" Adrianna shrugs her shoulders and walks away with her lunch bag in one hand and the other one clinging to her phone. Her phone must have went off because she smiles at it and continues on her way.

Curios...

By the time lunch ends and the bell to fourth period chimes I quickly making my way into class. like the first time I seen her in here she's sitting in the front of the class already taking notes. Ivy furrows her brows and bites her bottom lip in concentration.

Planning on sitting next to her someone else beats me to it. Ugh whatever i'll just talk to her after school. Science has always been my favorite subject but when it comes to doing group assignments I hate it and that's exactly what the teacher has planned.

In groups of two we dissect a frog following steps the teacher demos for us. Laying the from on its back we pin it down, and spread the limbs. What sucks is i've already done this but last year was a rough year for me. Im not sure as of why but I really went out of way to fuck shit up.

Anyways by the time class ends and I pack my shit up Ivy's gone.

"Fuck."

"Language!"

"Shit sorry." The teacher sighs as I walk out of the class room. Once i'm out the door an arm is thrown over my shoulders. Jacob Miller is a tall, scrawny and frankly the only guy I get along with. He's real, not fake like the others that have tried to befriend me.

I means he's stupid, funny, a pot head, and gets mixed with the wrong crowds at the wrong times, but hey honestly he's the only true friend i've managed to make here. There were some of the jocks that had found out who my dad is by connecting the names.

They actually ended up showing up the same day Ivy did. Unlike her they weren't okayed to come up to see me. I don't really belong in the jock clique anyways I don't really like fitting into a clique as it is. Im just me. I love reading, math, sports, binge watching tv shows, and yeah.

Why do we as a society seem to have to group our selves beats me. I wish everyone would just be their selfs and not care. I guess thats why Ivy really interests me.

She's her self and doesn't care what other thinks.

Mindlessly walking the halls to our next class I spot the girl thats been invading my thoughts. "Hey i'll be right back." Not bothering paying attention to the conversation we were having I walk away from Jacob.

"Well fuck you dude." He scoffs only for me to throw my hand up flipping him off. Ivy whispers to Adrianna and when Adrianna says something back to her she looks right at me.

"Hey." I breath out a small shaky breath. "I gotta get to my last class anyways." Adrianna says looking at me then back to Ivy. "Text me later ok." Ivy replies with a head nod then looks at me.

"Hey." Her voice monotoned, lifeless.

"You okay?" Asking even though I'm sure I won't really get an answer she purses her lips and shakes her head yes. "Yeah i'm good. Its nice to see you actually attending class. Two weeks with out coming and yet you're in no trouble." Walking away from me mid-conversation just like I did Jacob I scoff.

"Rude."

"I tend to be. Have a nice rest of your day Maddox." Waving at me as she walks down the hall turning into the library.
