Walking up to Adrianna's front door I can't help but roll my eyes. I hate when we fight I do but why is it always me apologizing for this shit. I did bring something with me to share with her that I have kept to myself for about a week now.
I mean I should probably tell her about everything that happened between me and Maddox within the span of two days. I guess more like a day and a half huh.
Whatever.
Lifting a closed fist to her door it swings open to reveal one of the twins. In other words Eddie one of her little brothers. They aren't really twins since they're two years apart but damn if they didn't look exactly a like.
"Oh hey Ivy you here to see Adrianna?" he asks shift on his heels and leaning up against the door frame. See I don't think he knows I know that he has a crush on me. Why he does beats me, but hey I like playing with him.
Gently placing a finger under his chin I lift his face to look at me and not my boobs.
"What if I said I'm here to see you instead?" Pursing my lips causing Eddie to lean in more I pull away.
His mouth gapes open like fish with out water. "You know i'm joking is she in her room?" I ask trying to stifle my laugh. His face is quick to drop and he shakes his head yes. "Thanks." I peck his cheek and ruffle his hair as I walk passed him and up the stairs to Adriannas room.
I knock the password knock we made up for each other to let the other know that its us. No reply i just walk in.
"Did I say you could come in?" she says sitting up on her bed, setting her Loving Bad book down. A book she's re-read a bout twenty times now. To say she's obsessed with Sin is an understatement if the poor character was real she'd be in jail for being a stalker.
"No, but I knew you wouldn't let me in anyways so, yeah here I am."
"Why are you here Ivy I told you don't come to me if you're not ready to tell me what's been up with you lately. You're worse than usual." Crossing her arms a crossed her chest she serious.
"Alright I won't take that dig to the heart because I'm here to make up for being a terrible friend." Grabbing two envelopes from my jean pocket I hold them out to her. "This is why, there is more to it but here are two reasons why."
Yanking the two envelops out my hand she says, "They best be damn good reasons." She looks at it then takes out the contents of the envelope that's already open and reads what the letter inside says.
"IVY YOU BITCH! THIS IS GREAT NEWS!"Adrianna screams at the top of her lungs squealing and jumping around. "You got in to CU Boulder in Denver!" Placing my hands on her shoulders to stop her from moving around her face quickly drops.
"Oh..," her arms slump.
"Yeah I got accepted into CU Boulder all the way in Colorado. Thats part of the reason I've been so distant lately. I didn't know how to tell you that I haven't applied to the University of Oregon. Shit I wasn't planning to at all. Ive wanted to move far, far away since my father died and this," taking the envelope and paper from her hand I wave it in her face.
"This is my ticket out." Tears well up in her eyes as she looks into mine. "Here.. is the other part of why I've also been distant." Tapping the other now crinkled up envelope in her grip.
"Oh i'm sorry," she says gently holding it out to me, "What does this one say?"
Clapping my hands together tightly I flop on to her bed. "Im actually not sure. That one I haven't opened. It's from Maddox. He left it for me I guess."
"Why haven't you opened it?" Adrianna asks quickly wiping her tears before they fall.
"Because there are some uneasy feeling I get ever time I look at it. Or touch it or even think of him." Sighing she joins me sitting on her bed crossing her legs.
"You really liked him huh?"
"No..," grunting getting off the bed, "I don't know everything happened so quick. There was too much behind it. Too much stress."
Walking to her open window I look out into her backyard. Watching her dog Cisco run around the yard. Wishing my life could be as simple.
"What all happened between you two?" Standing next to me opening her window she asks.
"A lot."
"Well that's not very descriptive." Nudging me I take a deep breath. Exhaling I begin to tell her everything that has happened between Maddox and myself. Everything from the first time we've quote on quote bonded to us sleeping together. To say Adrianna was surprised was an understatement.
"Wooow....ok. Um that's a lot to process or not really. I kinda thought you guys had a strange connection." Leaving me standing at the window alone i stay there.
"You need to read his letter. What if he professed his love or something." Scoffing I turn to see her opening the envelope.
"No!," snatching it from her hands it tears open a little, "no opening it. I'm not ready. Plus I'm 1000 percent sure he didn't profess his love to me."
"Why not you won't know till you read it.." trying to grab the letter from me I side step her.
"I kicked him out of my house after he told me his dad abuses him!" I rush out.
"What?"
"You heard me." Sighing I put the letter back in my pocket keeping it safely unopened.
"Wow that's harsh Ivy even for you."
A small laugh escapes my lips. "Yeah I know. Believe me I felt like shit about it I still do."
"Oh Ivy." Pulling me into a hug she squeezes me tight. "I got you."
