After the gym Maddox and I decided to go back to my house so I can change into my own clothes. Vanessa had taken forever to show up with mine so I told him we could just go since hitting the gym seemed like something important to him.

The car slowing to a stop in front of my house I climb out. Wiggling the door knob to see if it's open, since i didn't take my keys with me yesterday, I sigh in relief when the door cracks open.

Maddox right behind me closes the door and follows me up the stairs to my room.

"Home sweet home." Opening my bedroom door I look around making sure everything is in order. Maddox closes the door and walks all the way in and sits on the edge of my bed.

"Your room's cute." He says feeling my comforter.

"Thanks?" I say while grabbing a pair of underwear and some pants taking it to the bathroom door stopping half way through it.

"I'm going to shower really quick don't leave the room please."

"Why?" He asks standing up walking over to my dresser looking at the downward facing photo on it.

"I don't know when Malcom will be back."

His head turns quick to look at me, "Malcom? Who's Malcom?"

"Uhh, let me shower are we can exchange dark truths yeah?" Nodding his head I take the quickest shower I have in a long time. The water barely getting warm enough for me to enjoy by the end of my shower. I get changed opting to keep Maddox's shirt on.

Coming back out I find his lazy ass asleep on my bed. His legs off the bed limp, while one arm lays across his chest and the other cover his eyes.

I'll leave him for a little.

Leaving my bedroom door cracked I walk to my moms bedroom door. Giggling the knob, like I've done before seeking solace in my mother, only to be disappointed with it being locked like always.

I knock once than two more lightly. "Mom I'm not sure you're in there, but I think it might be time for you to get help. I seen what your room looks like and that's not healthy." Taking a deep breath trying to stay calm and strong. "Dads gone mom he's no-.., He's not coming back to us and you have to accept that and let him go." Pausing placing my eye on her door to hear something, shuffling, or anything really. I step back again when I hear nothing.

"The way you have your room with all his things in the same place that he had them before his accident..." Letting out a sigh I swipe a tear from my eye before it can fall. "Thats not a good thing. We all miss him too, and I know Evan being as distant as he is plays a big factor in it too."

"Mom all im trying to say is I will be there for you if you need me for support to go see someone for help. Maybe talking to Cathy will be good for you too. Mom I love you and I don't want to lose the only other parent I have left." Placing both my hands on the door to support me as I lean my head on the door, trying to feel a closeness to my mother, yet nothing.

Walking away from the door I cant help but think at least I tried what else can I do? Returning to my room I close the door as quietly as I can my back turned to Maddox. Jumping slightly as arms enclose around my waist and he lays his forehead on my shoulder.

"I heard what you said, I don't know how you must be feeling but I know it's hard. I'm here Ivy no matter what." Taking a deep breath I place my hands on top of his arms letting Maddox know I appreciate the gesture.

"Do you want to talk about it?" he asks letting me go turning me around lightly.

"No, sorry you know a lot more than I'd like you too honestly." Gripping my fingers in one hand twisting them.

"How about I tell you something personal to me too that no one knows about?" His green eyes looking into me shift from a bright green to more of a hazel color.

"Ok only if your comfortable with that."

Stopping my hands he leads me to the bed letting me sit before he joins me. Now it's him twisting his fingers so in return I comfort him like he has for me more than once.

Taking his left hand in my right I intertwine them and cover them with my left rubbing the back of his for support.

Closing his eyes Maddox takes a deep breath. Exhaling he looks away from me.

"It will be easier if I don't look at you while I talk about this I hope you dont mind."

Nodding my head only to remember he can not see me. Im a fucking dumbass honestly. "No I dont mind what ever you're comfortable with."

"My-my uh, my father, you know the bruises and the whole not showing up for classes sometimes?" He asks patiently waiting for my reply.

I can't help but feel that's he's about to tell me something horrible. By the way he's so uncomfortable and hesitant. My heart sinks as I tell him, "Yes."

My heart beats quick and it's getting harder to keep my breathing at a normal pace. Trying not to show my concern I'm pretty sure my sweaty hands are giving it away anyways.

"He's abusive, I know I could leave and all that but I don't know. He's still my dad you know? When my mother died I guess he did too that day."

Wow his situation hits close to home.
