As I run away from my friends I feel like shit. I shouldn't have blown up on them but it's to late now. I need to get to Cathy's house without them following me asking questions.
Seeing my mother stirred up a lot of feelings that I don't understand.
As I slow my running down to a jog I can catch deeper breaths now. Watching Cathy's house coming into view. Tears begin to fall down my face that's ice cold from the weather. Stopping completely I don't make it to her door before I breakdown crying. Falling to my knees in her drive way.
The tears feeling endless.The warmth they give as they continuously slide down my face. I gasp for air when a hand on my shoulder makes me look up from the ground.
"Come here." He says crouching down to me pulling me into his embrace comforting me as I just cry. His arms wrapped around me warming my torso just a little bit.
"W-why doesn't she love us enough?" Asking while sobbing into his chest still. "Why doesn't she want us? Are we that bad? Was dad all she wanted? Why did she have kids then? Why doesn't she see." Question after question spills from my mouth as I stay in Maddox's arms. He doesn't say anything just letting me continue.
"Why doesn't she see we hurt just as much as she?" Lifting my head from his chest I cup his face with my hand. The other flat against his chest. His green eyes look into mine tears brimmed in his as he looks at me. For some reason he always is there in the right moments. My gaze faltering going to his lips they open and close.
"Maddox?"
"Yes?" He replies his eyes never leaving mine.
I lean in to the side of his face. "Thank you." I whisper kissing his cheek as I pull away looking at his face again. He just looks at me. He places a hand on top of the one I have on his face still cupping it. "Always Ivy." This time he leans into me slowly lowering his lips to mine.
"If you ever need me I'll be here. My situation is a mess too but I'll be a mess with you Ivy Knight." My eyes flicker from his to his lips as they linger there. Finding myself leaning into him, our lips touch softly the warmth they give welcoming. Pushing myself further into him deepening the kiss he gently moans into my mouth.
I don't know if I should be kissing him but it feels soo right. My sadness soon fading as my body comes alive. Maddox's tongue swipes my bottom lip asking for permission for entrance. Not hesitating I let him. Our tongues swirl in perfect harmony as my body buzzes.
Not wanting this feeling to stop I continue the kiss till a honk startles the both of us. Making us practically jumping apart.
"Shit I forgot I told him to wait." Maddox says getting up from his knees holding his hand out for me. Taking his hand he helps me up. Once standing I pull my hand away ending the feeling he was giving me.
"It's my dads driver. Would you like a ride home?" He asks me but his eyes never leaving my lips. Barely nodding my head he's quick to act on it.
The black sleek front door opens and the driver steps out while Maddox stops him with a hand. "Thanks but I got it." Is all he says as the driver returns to his seat behind the wheel.
