Jasper' POV:

As I left the room I vaguely heard Clara calling after me asking for a blanket. I made a mental note to remember her request as I entered my room, which probably resembled a cave rather than a bedroom due to the grey decor.

Once my door was completely shut I wasted no time in walking over to my closet and pulling out a pair of grey sweatpants and a black t-shirt from one of the dressers I kept in there.

Before I left I glanced at the ring box siting on the dresser, with shaking hands I picked it up and gently opened it, inside sat the oh so familiar ring nestled in purple velvet. It was a large bronze ring featuring the Vegviser which is a Norse rune that somewhat resembled a compass, around the Vegviser were various other smaller Norse runes or they could've been letters from the Norse alphabet. Along each side of the ring the pattern somewhat resembled bark from a tree with a spiral going down the center leading to another symbol which I have never been able to describe.

I let out a deep sigh and quickly slipped the ring on my left middle finger before I could change my mind. After that I tossed the ring box back onto my dresser and grabbed the blanket from my bed on the way out of my room as I gently twisted the ring that now adorned my finger.

"I didn't know you could wear anything other than business suits," Clara joked, snapping me out of my trance.

"Why would I constantly wear a suit? I'm not a monster," I said sarcastically.

"Did you just make a joke?" She asked trying not seem as shocked as she really was. "Well not really a joke, but close enough."

"With all this time we've been forced to spend together I thought you would've already realized I'm not the most boring person in the world," I scoffed as I took my seat besides her on the couch.

"Could've fooled me," She shrugged taking the blanket from my hands.

"So I suppose this has turned into somewhat of a sleepover, and considering that's your area of expertise I guess I'll have to let you figure out what to so next."

"You think just because I'm a girl I automatically know how to have a proper sleepover," She gasped, obviously only pretending to be offended.

"Well do you?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow in her direction.

"Well obviously!" she exclaimed with a roll of her eyes. "We're gonna watch a movie."

"But movies are pointless," I protested.

"They're not pointless!" She claimed with a horrified look on her face that made me laugh.

"Oh come on, there's so many better things to do with your time," I reasoned.

"Nope I've made up my mind we're watching a movie, give me your laptop," she demanded.

"Fine," I sighed reluctantly handing her my laptop.

I watched diligently as she swiftly logged into a website called Netflix and began scrolling as if she was looking for something in particular.

"What about that one?" I asked pointing to a picture of a man with a shadow that looked like wings behind him.

"Lucifer? It's a Tv show, not a movie, but I suppose we could watch that," she said.

"What's it about?"

"Long story short it's about the Devil going to LA and meeting a homicide detective and they start working together to solve murders," she explained.

"Are you okay with watching it?" I asked.

"Are you kidding? This show is bloody brilliant!" She grinned as she hit the play button.

As the show played I vaguely noticed Clara glancing my way multiple times, but I was too focused on the show playing on my laptop to acknowledge it.

"So what did you think?" Clara asked once we finished the first episode.

"I think we should watch another episode," I smirked turning my head just in time to see a wide grin take over her face.

Hours passed and Clara and I sat huddled on the couch watching Lucifer and Detective Decker solve murders on my laptop screen.

That is until I let out a yawn.

"Tired?" Clara asked looking at me with an amused expression.

"No I just need coffee," I grumbled pushing myself off the couch and making my way to the kitchen.

"Where do you keep your tea?" Clara asked as she entered the kitchen behind me.

"Here," I mumbled passing her the tea box I keep next to the coffee.

After setting up the coffee maker I turned to help Clara find the kettle only to find she already found it and had it set up on the stove.

"Why do you keep all this stuff to make tea if you don't drink it?" She asked curiously as she hoisted herself up onto the counter.

"My butler likes to drink tea whenever he comes here so he keeps the stuff to make it here," I shrugged, waking over to lean on the counter next to her, coffee in hand.

"And here I was thinking you had some girlfriend who liked tea," she said smiling softly.

"I don't have time for a girlfriend," I stated.

"I don't believe that," Clara argued sliding off the counter so she could stand in front of me. "You're just scared."

"What do I have to be scared of?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"You're scared it won't workout and someone will end up getting hurt," she stated confidently.

I though for a minute about what she said before shaking my head.

"Nope I'm not scared."

"It's okay, you don't have to admit it," she shrugged.

"I said I'm not scared," I repeated in a deep voice as I brought my face closer to hers.

"Well then maybe you just haven't met the right person," she said softly, her breath fanning my face as she spoke.

Just as I was about to lean in closer the kettle decided to announce that it was ready to come off the stove.

Clara let out a yelp as she quickly sprung away from me and rushed to pour her tea while I stood completely still; contemplating what just happened in my head.

Eventually I decided that I was tired and if I was well rested we would have never almost kissed.

Besides, I don't have time for a relationship anyway, right?
