Jasper POV:
One week without talking to Clara turned out to be one of the hardest weeks of my life.Everyday I would go to work and sit through all the extra meetings I had set up in order to try and get my mind off her and then I went home and locked myself in my office and worked until it was time to do it all again the next day.
I started drinking three times the amount of coffee I usually drank just to keep myself awake because whenever I shut my eyes my nightmares would attack me and Clara wasn't there to stop them from tearing me apart.
The only comfort I had was knowing that she was just upstairs, but knowing this also made it so much worse because even though she was so close it felt like she might as well have been thousands of miles away because there was no way she would want to see me after what I did.
The days began to turn into one big blur and as I sat in my bed for the first time in days I didn't even register that it had been nearly a week since that night when I looked at the date.
All I knew is that I was so dreadfully tired, but sleeping was the very last thing I wanted to do. So I put all my energy into focusing on my work and scrounging up new tasks to complete in order to get ahead.
But despite my best efforts to distract myself from my much needed sleep I slowly began to feel my eyes begin to drop and everything wen't black for a few seconds right before the nightmares began.
