Clara's Pov:
I silently prepared my tea in an attempt to distract myself from the man who's stare I could feel from the other side of the kitchen.
What the bloody hell has gotten into Jasper? I thought unable to keep the thoughts of the almost kiss we shared out of my head.
I couldn't help noticing that he had been acting strange ever since he came to pick me up from my house.
I was certain that something had to be wrong with him for him to not only almost kiss me, but also let me hug him the way I did when he showed up at my house and press himself against me as we watched Lucifer.
"Are you okay?" I found myself asking suddenly as I turned to face him with my tea in hand.
"What do you mean?" he questioned.
"I mean, you've been awfully clingy for your standards," I explained.
"I am not clingy," he argued, taking a sip of his coffee as he avoided my eyes.
"You're not," I agreed earning a quizzical glance from Jasper. "I said by your standards you're being clingy."
"Whatever," he huffed rolling his eyes and setting his cup on the counter. "You better get ready, we have to leave for the airport at five and its three."
"But I don't have any clothes here," I protested.
"My butler brought all your things for you while we were watching Lucifer," he explained before heading into his room.
I quickly finished my cup of tea before deciding to poke around the penthouse in search of my things.
Finally I reached a guest room where I found a duffle bag sitting on the bed with my name on it.
Miss Husher,
I hope you don't mind but I found it impractical to bring up all your suitcases simply so you could pick out one outfit so I took the liberty of going on a quick shopping trip. (Don't worry I used Mr.Crowley's credit card) In this bag you'll find your toiletries and if you look in the closet you'll find multiple outfits to choose from, consider the outfits you don't decide to wear emergency clothing if you ever decide to spend the night again.
Sincerely, Mr. Baxby
With a soft grin on my face I made my way over to the closet and felt my grin instantly widen when I saw what was inside.
Mr. Baxby really went all out with the shopping considering the walk in closet was halfway filled with clothing already, I ended up picking out a pair of ripped jeans with white vans and a yellow tank top before grabbing the one sweatshirt in the closet and throwing it over my head before heading to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth.
Once I finished in the bathroom I made my way to the kitchen where I began searching for something quick to eat.
"Why is there so much food in your kitchen?" I whined when I heard Jasper walk into the kitchen.
"Baxby likes to cook," he stated simply as he shrugged his suit jacket onto his shoulders before pouring himself another cup of coffee.
"Don't you have anything simple to eat like a pop tart?" I asked.
"You should really eat something more sustaining and balanced," he mumbled, pulling an unopened box of pop tarts out of a small cabinet filled with all sorts of unopened junk food.
"I'm twenty, I don't need to worry about 'sustaining and balanced,'" I scoffed opening the box of pop tarts.
"Its never too early to worry about your health," he argued pulling out a shaker bottle and a powder protein shake packet.
