Cassandra finished off my makeup by painting the bottom of my eyelid with light blue shimmering eyeshadow that spread to the inner corner of my eye. The eye look was made complete with a cat eye and jet black mascara that made my eyelashes look way thicker than they really were. After that she applied a light pink lipgloss and handed me off to the hair stylist who simply tamed my hair so it fell over my shoulders in soft waves and finished the look with a simple gold headpiece that wrapped all the way around my head and came together in a small V on my forehead.
Once they both finished they helped me into the beautiful light blue dress that had gold specks to make it look like the gold was falling from the top of the dress. The dress had thin straps and a deep V neck. It tightened until it reached my midwaist then flared out while still clinging a but because of the satin material. Finally the high slit tied the look together and made it much more comfortable for me to walk.
"God I wish my body still looked like that," Cassandra commented, earning a nod from the hair dresser.
"What are you guys talking about," I scoffed. "You both look amazing."
"Well as amazing as you can look after you've had two kids," Kristi joked.
"Imagine what it's like when you've had four," Cassandra said with a roll of her eyes.
"You two have nothing to worry about," I laughed, giving them each a hug. "You both look great and if I had the time I would continue to argue about this, but I have a gala to attend."
With that I slipped on my matching heels and pulled on a pair of silk gloves before making my way out of my room and to the stairs.
I could hear the muffled voices of Alex and Jasper waiting for me in the foyer, but as soon as they saw me walking down the stairs the conversation stopped and both men focused their attention on me.
I focused on walking down the stairs as elegantly as possible, remembering my extensive "princess training" for one of the movies I was in when I was 18.
With one hand on the railing and the other gently holding my dress up I carefully made my way down the stairs, attempting not to slip and fall.
It was only until I reached the bottom of the stairs that I looked up and locked eyes with Jasper who was wearing a jet black suit with a white button up shirt and a black tie.
We stared at each other for a couple seconds, almost as if we were trying to have a conversation with our eyes.
"Wow Clara, you look great," Alex complimented, brining Jasper and I back to reality.
"Thanks," I grinned, blushing a bit when I noticed Jasper eyeing me up and down.
Suddenly Jasper cleared his throat.
"We should get going," he stated, opening the front door and letting Alex and I pass through first.
The same man who picked us up from the airport was standing in the driveway next to a limousine, when he saw us walking out of the door he automatically moved to open the door for us.
"So Alex, plan on getting lucky tonight?" I asked casually, causing him to choke on the water he was drinking.
"I'm sorry, what?"
"I'm just saying, they'll be plenty of pretty girls at the gala tonight," I shrugged. "And you seem lonely."
"Oh I seem lonely?" he questioned. "The media keeps on writing stories about how lonely you are."
"Well the media doesn't know what they're talking about," I huffed.
"I dunno, you haven't had one boyfriend since you made it big," he teased.
