Third Person POV
Damon stared at himself in the mirror with a look of disgust. His body was still bruised but they were fading away. He was never confident with his body to begin with, his self esteem was even lower now.
If it were his mirror, he would have punched it by now but he controlled himself. He blinked away the tears forming quickly as Lylah stood behind him.
"I don't care what you may think about yourself but I still think you're beautiful."
He looks at her in the mirror for a second before turning around to face her. A smile threatening to break through as he nudged her chin with his knuckles.
"You really mean that don't you?" His question was rhetorical but she answered anyway.
"Yes." She nods once in all seriousness.
"Just get in bed already." He mutters, bumping into her shoulder on the way past her.
She complied and went back to the bed, dozing off soon after.
He slipped his shirt back on and packed up all of his belongings as quietly as he could. His mind was racing and he felt the need to rush. He got the text that Joaquin was outside, ready to take him home since he didn't have his car the night of the attack.
His feet wouldn't move away from the door way. He looked over his shoulder at the sleeping girl, he quickly dropped his bags and walked towards her.
He pulled the duvet over her body and turned the lamp off next to her.
He hated the way he felt, he felt nauseous just thinking about her. He couldn't understand what he was feeling, he can't even remember the last girl he's spent so much time with in less than a month... well at all.
He wanted to understand why she was so nice to him, why she liked him so much even though he's so cruel on purpose and accidentally.
He resisted the urge to get back in the comfy bed and grabbed his things again, making his way down the steps.
"Oh you're leaving already?"
He looks over at Lylah's mother with a mug in her hand and a sad look on her face. He only nods, looking down at his shoes.
"Okay, well I enjoyed you staying here, my home is open to you anytime, I mean it." He nods again.
"Please be safe out there." She gives a soft smile.
He drops his bags once more and hugs her. Her eyes get wide with shock but she hugs back.
"Um t-thanks. Hey can you please give this to your daughter in the morning." He yanks a crumbled paper from his pocket and shoves it in her free hand. His face is stoic but a blush covers his cheeks. He bends carefully to pick up his things and quickly walks out to meet Joaquin.
