Damon's POV
I woke up at the sound of whispering.
"Hey Joaquin, go home and get some sleep."
"It's almost eleven."
"I know, I lost track of time. I'm so sorry, I'll make it up to you I promise."
"You better."
"Is he sleeping?"
"Yeah he's out like a light."
"Alright I'll try not to wake him."
The door closes, I'm assuming Joaquin left. I start to doze off again when I feel the bed dip beside me.
I could feel her body shake next to me, sniffling and quiet sobs.
She's crying?
I don't know what to do.
I could comfort her or I could yell at her to shut up so I can get some sleep.
Why not both?
I flop my arm around her, she jumps at my touch before relaxing against me.
"Can you please shut up I'm trying to sleep." I mutter into her ear before resting my head on top of hers.
"Sorry."
"This is a one time thing by the way, don't get comfortable."
"Okay." She sniffles.
After a few minutes of peace and quiet I was finally able to go back to sleep.
///
I wake up with Lylah resting on my chest, her leg swung across my lap.
Hell no.
I gently push her back to her side of the bed.
It was one thing to have her ass pressed against me but this was too much. How did we even end up like that?
My heart is beating really fast and I suddenly can't breathe. I shake Lylah as hard as I can until she looks up at me.
"Damon? Hey what's wrong?" She quickly sits up next to me and analyzed me.
"You're having a panic attack, you have to focus on your breathing."
I try to listen but my brain turns to mush and I forget everything she just said.
"Hey look at me, breathe Damon, you have to relax." She holds my face in her hands, forcing me to look at her. I hate to say this but it helped.
"See that wasn't so hard." She smiles.
I push her hands away and bring my knees to my chest.
"You wanna tell me what triggered the attack?"
"You... you were sleeping on me and I don't know, I didn't like how close we were."
"I'm sorry, won't happen again."
"Okay."
"Do you want to go back to school today?" She asks.
"One more day."
"Alright, I'll text Joaquin if you want?"
"Sure, I think he has classes later on, you should be home by then."
"Actually I'm not going today."
"You aren't? Then why text Joaquin?"
"You wouldn't have much fun with me." She lays back down with her back to me.
"Did something happen last night?"
"No. I'm just tired."
"I don't believe you but whatever it's none of my business."
