Damien^^^
Damon's POV
"So um what's new ?" Joaquin gives us a perplexed smile.
"Hm not much." I shrug.
"Not much huh?"
"Why, is there something you wanna talk about?" I question.
"Oh it's nothing big really... except the fact that you have a girl next to you in public and you don't seem bothered in the slightest?!"
"Oh that."
"The hell you mean "oh that" can one of you explain what happened, it's only been a week since I've seen you guys!"
"Not much has changed... we're friends now, just like you wanted." I chuckle.
"Are you fucking with me right now? Look at her!"
I look over at Lylah who's already looking back at me. Her elbows rest on the table as she holds her head in her hands. Her eyes are low, clouded with lust. She looks like she'll start drooling any second now.
"Hey snap out of it!" I slap her thigh and she perks up.
"Oh s-sorry!"
"Were you fantasizing about me again?"
"I can't help it, you're dressed really nice and you smell amazing." She bows her head in shame.
"If I have to work on being nice, you should work on... not being such a pervert."
"I guess that's fair." She nods.
"Am I dreaming right now?" Joaquin blinks rapidly.
"Cut it out and eat your damn food." I wave off.
His phone vibrates on the table before he picks it up. He checks the screen and starts laughing.
I want to throw the thing away, or crush it under my boot.
I know it's one of his new friends.
"Wow isn't this a coincidence." A new raspy voice speaks up.
We all look up at the blond in front of our table.
"Damien?" I manage to ask.
"Of course."
"Nice hair dude." Joaquin cackles.
"I don't have time for your ignorance, anyways how have you been Damon?" He gives a friendly smile.
"Why are you here?"
"Visiting, I'm here to fix a few messes I caused before I left, nothing crazy." He gives a casual shrug as he looks past me towards Lylah.
Lylah's face is void of emotion as she stares back at him. I could feel myself becoming more protective as I placed my hand on her thigh.
"Well seems as if I'm not wanted, I'll go somewhere else and eat."
"No you stay, we were finished anyway." Lylah speaks up.
"Oh how nice of you." He nods once and turns back to his friends.
///
"Hey you okay, I know things got a little weird back there?" Lylah asks, reaching her hand over the armrest to mess with my rings.
"I'm good, nothing I can't handle."
"Can I ask you something?"
"What?"
"Do you not want Joaquin to have friends?"
"What, why would you ask a dumb question like that?"
"You seemed upset when he started texting."
"It's just rude to text at the table."
"Like you care about manners, just be honest with me." She nudges my shoulder playfully.
"Okay so it bothers me, but who am I to tell him he can't make friends."
"You should talk to him about it, I'm sure he'll understand."
"He'll think I'm a pussy, no way I'll just suffer in silence like I always do." I scoff.
"How long have you been friends?"
"Uh like six years give or take a few fights."
"That's a long time, he'll understand!"
"I'll think about it, can you shut up about him now?" I mutter as I turn the car on.
"Yes." She nods with a small smile and clicks her seatbelt into place.
I drove her home and we didn't exactly get out right away if you catch my drift. I was trying to distract myself from the fact that my brother is back in town for some strange reason.
I have a bad feeling about it.
