Third Person POV
She kicked a few rocks around as she tried to get service on her phone.
"Well then, guess I'm catching the bus." She let out a dry laugh.
"Well hello."
She turns around facing the guy Damon just fought.
"Hello?"
"Let me introduce myself, name's Joaquin."
"I'm Lylah." She shakes his inked hand.
"Why are you alone out here?"
"My crus- this... guy I know ditched me and I have no signal to get a Uber."
"Damon?"
"Uh yeah?"
"I saw you guys earlier in the ring." He explains quickly.
"Oh." She looks down at her shoes.
"What do you see in him?" He chuckles.
"I wish I knew." She sighs.
Before they knew it, they talked about all different kinds of topics, quickly realizing they had a lot in common. She told him about Damon and their situation from her point of view, and he genuinely listened. He told a few secrets of his own that she swore never to repeat.
"Wow it's already twelve, let's get you home." He stood from the curb and offered out his hand.
"I'm gonna be questioned to death in the morning." She groans as she takes his hand. "You don't have to give me a ride."
"Oh come on, I'm not leaving you out here, the drunks are probably out now."
"This isn't just a pity ride because of what I told you is it?"
"Of course not, we're friends now, I always help friends."
"Okay bestie." She jokes.
"Never call me that again." He tightens his grip on her hand and she nods quickly.
"Got it!" She yanks her wrist and nurses her aching hand as he smiles.
"Hm I can see why boys flock to you, you're adorable." He comments as he opens the passenger door for her.
"Oh- thanks." Her cheeks were burning as she hopped up into the truck.
The ride was calm and peaceful, the radio played quietly for background noise.
"Well this is it." She sighed.
"Give me your number before you go."
They exchange phones and put their numbers in under silly names as an inside joke.
"Thank you for everything." She leans over, grabs his face and kisses his cheek, leaving a lipgloss smudge.
"I'll see ya around." He nods as she hops out of the truck.
"I'll hold you to that." She winks.
