Seventeen

-Natsu's pov-

I stayed by her side, not once leaving her unless to go to the toilet or to eat, in case she woke up.
She will be fine, I know she's just exhausted but I want to be here when she wakes up. She protected the whole town, saved me and everyone else, I can't let her be alone.

She lay peacefully in the infirmary bed, her face relaxed, her perfectly pink lips ever so slightly open revealing her white teeth. Her big, beautiful e/c eyes closed while her long eyelashes rest effortlessly on her cheeks.

I was lightly squeezing her soft hand, gently caressing it to make sure I wasn't hurting her but letting her know I was here for her.

Her body was covered in light cuts, scratches and bruises, but she still looked perfect. It's been three days since we has taken down the thunder palace. She missed the Fantasia parade which was always one of her favourites so I'm sure she will be upset about it. I remember when we went together one year she looked so happy, no matter what was going on she was happy about it, but I guess that is just y/n. She's always happy. She brings so much joy to the guild, to our family. Laxus had no right to do that to her, she has always seen him as a big brother but he got what was coming to him.
Now all she has to do is wake-

My thoughts were cut off by y/n groaning softly in pain.
Her hand tightens softly on my own reassuring me she's conscious once again.

"Y/n!" I gasp quietly.
Her eyes squeeze shut tighter than before then slowly flutter open, she quickly shuts them again then slowly flutters them open repeating the cycle a few more times until her eyes had adjusted to the light, looking at the roof with a dazed expression on her face.

"You're awake" I sigh relieved.
She blinks a few times then tilts her head up face me slowly.
"N-Natsu?" she whispers barely audibly.
"H-Hey" She stutters out and weakly smiles her perfect smile. I instantly smile back at her and let go of her hand.
"You had me worried for a while there" I laugh out slightly.
"I'm sorry" she says slightly louder than her previous words.
"Don't be, you're safe" I say and pull her into a light hug, she instantly relaxes and snuggles into my chest getting comfortable.
We sit in that positions for a while before she pulls away. I feel slightly saddened when she does so, but looking at her perfect dimples as she smiles up at me makes it all okay.

"W-What time is it?" She asks softly.
"It's 8:48" I say pointing at the clock on the wall.
"I slept all night huh?" She says slightly confused.
"Well it's actually Thursday so you slept for three days" I say and scratch the back of my neck.
She gasps slightly then giggles, laying back down in the bed.
"No wonder I'm so hungry" she mumbles.
"Let's go eat" I say eagerly.
She instantly smiles at me and nods in response.

I stand up and push the chair I was on out of the way so she can stand, I reach my arm out for support and she clings to it as she tries to stand but fails.
"I-i can do it, just let me try again" She says determinedly.
I reach down and lift her up effortlessly, then carry her bridal style out of the infirmary into the main hall before she has the chance to argue.

As it was still kind of early there weren't many people in the guild hall yet, Mira, gramps, levy, cana, ice freak and happy are the only ones here.

"Y/n you're up!!" Mira exclaims and comes running to the two of us. Cana is passed out on the ground but everyone else comes over and joins us at the bar. I gently place her down on a chair then sit next to her. Happy flies straight into her boobs and hugs her tightly, she just smiles down at him happily.

"How are you feeling? Not too sore?" Mira questions.
"No I'm okay, thank you for everything Mira I'm sure you were the one that patched me up" y/n says quietly.
"I'm just glad you're okay" she says and smiles happily.
"We all are" princess Elsa says smiling down at her.
"I-I'm sorry for worrying you all" she says apologetically.
"Don't be, you saved us!" Happy says happily.
"Yeah, we'd be toast without you" I reassure her and place my hand on her shoulder.
She looks back at me and smiles happily.
"Where is he now?" She asks curiously.
"He won't be back for a while" Levy says from behind her book.
She nods her head understandingly and goes back to facing Mira.

Slowly everyone starts to show up and talk to each other while I stay with happy and y/n at the bar.
Mira comes back with three large bowls of pasta and a fish for the three of us, giving two bowls to me and one to y/n we all smile and thank her before starting to eat.

The long day past finally and everyone had thanked y/n for saving us. She was exhausted by the time everyone had left.
"Do you want me to walk you to the infirmary?" I ask smiling at her small frame.
"Could you?" She asks in a small voice.
"Of course" i say, walking beside her as she slowly makes her way to the infirmary once again. Once we had arrived she sighed softly, clearly still stiff from being shocked so badly and flopped into bed. To save her the effort I gently pulled the blankets up around her tucking her in, earning a smile from her.
"Mira says tomorrow you can come home" happy says.
"Yeah" she replies and smiles at him.
The three of us talk for a while before y/n yawns obviously tired.
"We better let you sleep" I say and ruffle her hair.
"Aye" Happy replies.
"Wait!" She calls out stopping us in our tracks.
"D-Do you think you would be able to s-stay with me again?" She asks almost inaudible, a blush spread across her face.
"I-i-it's just nice having you here a-and i d-don't want to be alone" she says looking down.
"Of course we can, move over" I say reassuringly and lay next to her. Happy curls up on her lap and instantly goes to sleep.
"I'm sorry for troubling you but it's so nice having you around. You always make me feel safe" she mumbles.
"Don't be sorry. I like being with you, and I'm glad" I say and put my arm behind my head, peering over and her perfect face.
"Thank you for everything natsu." She says and rests her head on my arm, getting closer to me.
I feel my face starting to heat up as she does.
"Don't mention it" I say and shut my eyes. I can practically feel her smile while I drift off to sleep.
