You sat in that forest sobbing over your exceed's lifeless body for hours on end. The sun had gone down many hours ago, shortly the sun would rise again on a tragic day. Clouds formed and rolled in above you as you sat sobbing hysterically.
Rain soon began to poor around you.
Fitting.

You forced your aching arms to wrap around her, picked up luna's lifeless, cold body and carried her in your arms.
You felt numb. You couldn't talk, you could barely see straight, you were trembling from being frozen and by the overwhelming anxiety.
You were heartbroken and alone. Alone again. Everyone you ever loved always dies. You should be used to it by now.

You eventually made it to your house after wandering through the dark, you walked to your backyard and dropped to the cold wet grass next to the large oak tree beside your house defeatedly. You laid her body there gently and placed a wet flower from the garden on her torso. You removed the small necklace from her body and held it tightly to your chest as you let out another agonising cry.

Still in shock you laid down next to her in silence, you stayed there until the sun began to rise through the dark clouds hours later, it felt like time had frozen.
The rain slowed down slightly and the sun started to become visible, peaking through the dark clouds as you laid there motionless next to Luna's body. You stared blankly off into the clouds in pure shock unable to process what had happened.
You didn't think, you didn't speak, you didn't move, you just laid there devastated and distraught, stricken with fear and grief unable to function.

Hours later you finally rose from the mud, soaked to the core. Your previously bandaged wounds now split and bleeding, covered in mud would normally have caused you to wince but the numbness you felt was overpowering all of the senses of pain you had. Your feet blistered and aching, you began to make your way to the guild hall unsure of what else to do praying someone would make it better.
You were freezing yet numb, your bloodshot eyes still had tears rolling out of them even after you didn't think you had any more tears left to cry, your lips slowly turning blue from the cold, split and chapped from being so dry, and your shirt stained with blood and mud. You hadn't slept and you were exhausted, if anyone saw you they would have known immediately, that much was obvious.

You walked up the stone stairs reluctant to open the door, you slowly worked up the courage to open it but as you pushed the doors wide open you began to cry once again, a wave of depression hitting you all over again. This was the first time you ever went to the guild without her.

She had been there with you since your first day at the guild, and now she is gone.

As it was still early there were only 10 or so people in the entire guild hall, yet they all looked at you concerned and shocked. As you walked inside you felt eyes burning into you but you refused to look up knowing you would only crumble even more under their gaze.

"(Y/n) ah-whats wrong?" Gray asks in a concerned tone rushing up to your side.
You finally peel your eyes off the ground to look at him, tears poring from your eyes once again.

You stand there shaking unable to form words, your throat dry and aching from screaming all night. You looked as if you were on the brink of death.

"Luna's gone" you struggled to whisper. Only gray heard you as your voice was practically none existent, but the words seemed to echo in his ears.
He gasped softly in shock and hugged you, instantly pulling you close to him to keep you warm, protectively on instinct. You couldn't move let alone breath, no more words came from you, anxiety restricting your airways as you had been panicking all night.
