Eighteen

-y/n POV-

It didn't take long for me to get back on my feet, two days after I woke up I was feeling better than ever. Natsu however doesn't want to risk it and refused to leave my side. In fact he hasn't left my side for the past two months. Practically the only time he has left my side is to go fight the Oracion Seis which was two days ago. He refused to let me leave in case I got hurt again, even though I can protect myself perfectly fine and have proven it many times, besides if anything bad was going to happen he would jump in the way to save me regardless but I figured it was best to let him do this with his team. I didn't want to be a burden.

Even though they've only been gone for two days it's so quiet and boring without them. I already miss the constant fighting of the team, Lucy's girly antics and most importantly Natsu.

I sigh loudly, oh well, while they're gone I might as well make the most of it and get some money.

I see Cana the drunk laying on the bar, barrels to either side of her as she snores loudly.
"Cana, do you want some more money for alcohol?" I ask and she instantly sits up.
"Let's go" she says and stands up immediately walking to the board.
'That was easy' I laugh to myself.

"Say y/n, we haven't had a drink together for forever!" She says as we sit on the train to crocus for our job.
"Literally, we never have" she looks over at me, thinking about it harder.
"Because Cana, I'm not an alcoholic like you" I giggle.
"I'm going to make you drink with me when we get back" she says through a wicked smile.
I just nod in response and continue to walk toward the train station reluctantly.
'Man I hate trains...' I sigh

I spent the entire trip looking out the window trying desperately not to throw up.
"You holding up okay?" Cana asked cautiously.
"Yeah" I mumbled.
"Next stop Crocus" the voice over the P.A booms.
"Looks like we're up" I say and bound to my feet. Cana stands up smiling at me, watching as I quickly gather our things and hop off the train, not wanting to spend any longer than I have to on it.

As the two of us step onto the cobblestone pathway my (colour) healed combat boots clicked as I walked, my h/l  h/c hair flying behind me.
"What are we doing anyway?" Asks Cana curiously.
"We're fighting some thief's, pretty simple" I reply smiling gently at her.
She smiles back at me, we make small talk for the rest of the trip until we make it to the home where the request says to go first.

I cautiously knock on the door, stepping back and wait for whatever was going to happen next.

The door slowly creeks open revelling a short man with a long blue beard that goes to his knees, no head hair and is wearing a pink suit.
"Fairy tail?" He asks quietly.
"That's us" Cana steps up. He opens the door wider and ushers us inside.

-time skip-

Turns out the job was easy as hell. We had to kill a spider like monster. The poor man was terrified of spiders and obviously hated the idea of a magical spider so we quickly finished the job, also struggling slightly due to both of us being scared of spiders as well however, got our money and went home. This time. However I refused to catch the train so instead the two of us had to walk the entire trip back.

The second the two of us walked inside Cana ran to the bar while I was left dodging flying chairs and tables due to the brawl that started by none other than natsu and gray. Typical.

I walked to the quiet side of the guild and collapsed in the booth, my legs thanking me for finally sitting down. I let out a loud sigh as I relaxed into the hard wooden chair.
I shut my eyes and tried to zone out the sound of the fighting when i was interpreted by a small voice.

"U-Umm, excuse me. Are you okay?" The small voice says.
I open my eyes and look around above me to see nothing. I sit up quickly and come face to face with a small, blue haired girl who doesn't seem all that old and a white cat standing on the table in front of me.
"Oh sorry, I'm fine thank you, just a little tired from my mission. I don't mean to sound rude but do I know you?" I ask shyly.
"I was worried, I saw you fall into the chair and assumed you were sick. My name is Wendy marvel and this is Carla. We are new to the guild." Wendy said slightly more confident than her last sentence bowing hello to me.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Wendy, and Carla you too. My name is y/n l/n." I say smiling at the pair. They seem close.
"T-this may be rude to ask but how old are you? There are no other younger people here except for that small boy over there" Wendy asked and points to Romeo.
"Romeo is very young" I laugh
"Oh sorry I didn't answer, it's not rude at all, I'm 18, how old are you?" I ask curiously
"12" she replies simply. I usher her to sit next to me.

"How come you chose to join fairy tail?" I ask happily.
"Well we were members of the guild cait shelter but..." Wendy pauses and tears up slightly so Carla finishes her sentence.
"The guild master passed away and the rest of the guild disappeared. The pink haired boy practically forced Wendy the poor child to join the guild!" Carla bursts.

Looking at the pair reminded me of Luna and how we used to be. I smile faintly, not knowing if I should giggle or cry.

"I'm sorry for your loss, I truly hope you are happy here at fairy tail, we are all one big family and if you ever need anything you can tell me or anyone else here. I'm sorry but if you'll excuse me I have to go. I'll be back soon, it was a pleasure to meet you both" I say quickly, bow slightly and walk out the door, shutting it before a table gets thrown through the gap and hurts anyone else.

Sighing heavily I walk up the small hill on the edge of magnolia overlooking the whole town.
Once again I sigh heavily and sit down, tucking my knees up into my chest.

"I miss you" I say to the sky.

I sit there silently watching the sun set and the lights in the town slowly flicker on one by one, thinking about my lost best friend.

A light drizzle of rain slowly begins on magnolia, I stay on the hill unfazed. The drizzle slowly turns to a heavy down poor and lighting storm, I stay in my place becoming drenched but enjoying my solitude.

"Y/n? What are you doing out in this weather?" A familiar voice calls out.
I turn my head to the side and see happy and natsu running toward me.
"You're going to catch a cold if you stay here" natsu calls
"Aye! Let's go home" happy replies after him.
I smile at the two and nod, 'hmm'ing in response and stand up stretching slightly.
"I didn't know you were back, I kicked gray's ass today at the guild! Oh man you should have seen it" natsu says happily.
Happy perched himself on my shoulder and snuggles into my hair.
"Good job" I reply smiling.

"What were you doing out here anyway?" Natsu Asks
"Just thinking" I say smiling at the ground.
