Twenty six

When I walked back inside the guild hall the next morning at 7:15 I was suprised to see how many people were still passed out. Only a hand full of people had actually gotten up and gone home, there was only mirajane awake at the bar cleaning up and myself, I guess they needed to rest though.

"Morning Mira!" I say quietly.
"Oh good morning y/n! How did you sleep?" She asks softly
"Not too bad thank you, yourself?" I smile at her and sit down at the bar.
"I slept really well surprisingly. I don't know how but I ended up in the infirmary in a bed though" she says smiling back at me with a confused expression on her face.
"I'm glad! I put you there along with everyone else" I giggle at her expression. Mira is so pretty!!!
"Oh really? Thank you so much y/n you're a life saver" she says gratefully and smiles warmly at me.
"Don't mention it. I figured it be better for at least some people to sleep well" I say and smile at the wooden surface underneath me.

We continue our small conversation for a while, I start to help her clean up as we speak. Once we finally finish cleaning up she stretches out and decides she will go home and shower and come back shortly. I wave goodbye to her and sigh, once again alone.

My eyes fall to a passed out Natsu snoring away like no ones business, still cuddled up under the blanket I put over him, I couldn't help but giggle at him. He's so cute just look at that face.
"Quit staring, it's creepy" grays voice calls out in a joking tone from behind me. I turn and look at him as he leans in the doorway, rubbing his eyes.
I simply laugh in response.

"Good morning sleepyhead, how are you feeling?" I ask politely. He slumped down next to me at the bar and sighs, resting his head on the wood.
"A bit rusty" he replies.
I rest my hand on the back of his head and start to softly play with his hair, he hums in acceptance and stays where he is.
"thanks for helping me last night" he says softly.
"I wasn't going to leave you on the floor now was I?" I reply sweetly, he chucked softly.
"Do you want me to get you something to drink or eat?" I ask him
"I think I should go shower first, I feel gross, but I would kill for some food." He groans out. I remove my hand from his head and stand up, he turns his head around and looks up at me.
"Wanna come with me and we can go eat after?" He asks.
"I would love to" I smile down at him. With one last look at Natsu I walk out the door with gray.

We finally made it to Gray's apartment after walking for almost 20 minutes.
"Make yourself at home, I'll be in the shower if you need me" he says holding
the front door open.

I walk into his surprisingly clean apartment and take off my shoes. Gray does the same and then wanders off somewhere unknown to me.

After a few seconds I hear a door shut and then the sound of a shower start, I walk into the small home instantly noticing the paintings and other artworks placed around the room.  
This place is gorgeous, he has some class.

I eventually make my way to the living room, almost getting lost multiple times but finally finding the large, comfortable looking couch that my sore feet are craving. I flop down on it, instantly cuddling up into it.
I swear this is more comfortable than my bed!!!

I stay planted on the couch for a few minutes until I hear the shower stop. A few more minutes after that and a clothed (for once) gray appears in the walkway, a towel draped across his shoulders as he is drying his ear with the end of the towel.

"You okay?" He asks looking at me with a smile spread across his face.
"This couch is so comfortable it's unbelievable" I say laughing at myself and sit up.
Gray throws his towel on top of a small, presumably dirty pile of clothes and then makes his way over to me.
"No kidding. I love this thing" he says and flops down on it next to me.

"Feeling better?" I ask. He nods in response.
"Much better. Just hungry. How are you?" He asks.
"I'm okay" I reply simply.
"Just okay?" He questions.
"Still trying to wrap my head around everything. I'm just thankful that you're all back safe and sound" I reply and rest my head on his shoulder.
He leans his head down and copies my action.
"I know what you mean, it's so strange to think about" he sighs.
I stand up with a burst of energy. If I dwell on this topic for too long I will cry so I might as well not do that!

"Let's go eat! Breakfast is waiting" I say positively.
"Sounds good to me" he agrees and stands up. We make our way to the door to put our shoes on before going out into the warm sun, back on the road to try and find breakfast.

"There's a cafe around here somewhere, is that still open?" he asks curiously.
"I have no idea" I giggle.
"Oh I forgot sorry" he laughs back.
"Don't be, I think it is though" I say smiling at the ground.
The sweet smell of coffee lingers in the air the closer we get to the end of the street.
"By the smell of it it's still here, I'm glad"  I smile.
"No kidding" he says back, the two of us happily walk inside the cafe ready to dig in.
