The banditos haven't walked long before they came across their first obstacle. A lone cheetah emerges from the bushes and it doesn't look happy.
You hear everyone gasp and they step back slowly. Cheetahs are fast, so why run? You need to come up with a plan and fast. You step back with the others. You can't think of anything. You pick up Jim, Josh's puppy, to make sure he doesn't get hurt.
You then notice Tyler has not moved and the cheetah seems awfully tame. Tyler suddenly kneels.
"Is he crazy?" Josh whispers.
You start to remember something. You once laughed at Tyler for a lyric in the notebook. A lyric that stated he had a pet cheetah.
You put Jim down and then walk forward. You kneel right beside Tyler. The banditos, though they have no idea why, kneel too.
It takes a minute but the cheetah walks up to Tyler and jumps up on him, as if it's hugging him.
You smile as you hear Tyler's giggles and the cheetahs purring.
"No way!" Billie laughs as she pushes through the crowd.
Billie walks up to the cheetah slowly putting her hand out. The cheetah accepts and Billie embraces the cheetah.
"Not too many people at a time, he gets nervous" Tyler says
"What's his name?" Billie asks
"Jason"
This is wild. Literally. Basically super powers and pet cheetahs? Nothing feels real anymore.
You wrap your arms around Tyler. That's the only thing that feels real. He holds you tight against and it makes you feel safe.
"I don't feel like myself, Tyler" You tell him
"I know, but I promise it will get better. When this is all over, everything will be fine"
He gives you a small kiss on the forehead. You two break apart when Josh walks in.
"I'm sorry to interrupt but we got to get moving.
The air suddenly got cold and snow starts to fall. The snow started out small and light but then it turned into a blizzard.
"Damnit!" Josh cursed
You can barely see with all the snow. You find Jim and Jason finds Tyler's side.
"There's a small town up ahead. Not too long of a walk"
Everyone is freezing and the wind is definitely not helping. It's not that long of a walk and everyone piles into a small building that used to be a house.
Everyone settles in and gets warm. The cheetah doesn't seem nervous anymore and has warmed up to everyone, including Jim.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Jason makes a sound that sounds like a growl and the hair stands up.
