Josh wakes you up to tell you that they're leaving. The group looks exhausted and so does Josh.
"I'm putting you in charge" Josh says
"What? Why?" You ask
"Because I can trust you"
"I'm the worst at being a leader. I barely do anything right"
"(Y/N) you know that's not true. You'll do fine. Okay I got to go" he says
He gives you a hug and runs off before you could say anything else. You stand up and notice everyone is looking at you. Josh must have told them.
"Listen guys I dont know what he wants me to do so" you announce awkwardly.
Nobody seems to care and they continue on with their conversations. Some get up and stretch. You begin to feel lonely so you grab your notebook out of your bag. Your notebook is old and is starting to tear. You found the notebook a long time ago. When you found it there were drawings of animals and plants. Ever since you found it you've been trying to draw like the person who had the book before, copying and studying their pictures. They were really good, but that's not what you were there for. At the end of the notebook there were what looks to be songs. Pages and pages of lyrics. These lyrics talk about Dema and the banditos. It even talks about Nico. You see someone walking up to you and you put the notebook back in your bag.
"We're hungry" they say
"Yeah me too but I don't know what we're supposed to do, Josh didn't give me any instructions" you say
"We go out to hunt then" he says "but can we even go out of the cave?"
"Like I said he didn't give me any instructions. Maybe he talked to someone else? Ask around"
"Alright" he says
You really dont know why Josh put you in charge. They found a bag of food josh must have left. It also had a note, medical supplies and other miscellaneous stuff. The note is the instructions josh forgot to tell me.
"Hey guys it says we can't leave the cave" you yell out.
"Too late, Alaric walked out not too long ago" says a girl you met yesterday.
You think her name is Valerie
"And you didn't think to tell me?" You yell
She shrugs her shoulders and you roll your eyes. You run out but somebody grabs your arm. It's a guy with dark brown hair and eyes
"It's too dangerous" he says
"I don't care. I'm in charge and I'm going" you say
"Listen, Josh told me to look after you. To make sure you're alright so I can't let you go"
"First of all, who do you think you are? Second of all, I can take care of myself"
"First of all" he mocks you "I'm Josh's brother Jordan. Second of all I'm just doing what I'm told"
"Brother?"
"Yeah. He never told you about me? Rude" He says "I'm not the only sibling either"
"Really?" You ask "well listen, we can talk all about this after I find Alaric"
You turn away from him and walk away. Jordan follows you but doesn't say anything.
"Not going to try and stop me?" You ask
"No, I'm going to help" he smiles at you
You didn't mind. You both leave the cave and look around.
"Which way?" You ask
"Footprints" is all he says
You look down and see see a bunch of footprints heading towards where you've come from.
"They're from the banditos" you say
"I know but they are the only footprints. If Alaric went another way we would see the footprints" Jordan says
"True. You think he followed the banditos?" You ask
"Yeah"
"Come one, he can't be too far." You say
"Are you sure that's a good Idea?" He asks "we will be heading towards Dema, and what about the others?"
"The others will be fine. If you want to go back you can but Alaric can't be alone"
"I'm coming" Jordan says
You and Jordan follow the footprints. You're jogging, hoping to catch up to Alaric before he reaches dema. No luck.
"Can we stop for a bit?" Jordan asks
You guys have been jogging for what seems like hours.
"No, but we can walk for a bit" you say
"Okay"
You walk for a bit and you reach the building that leads to the tunnel.
"The tunnel goes on forever, it's best if we get rest and continue in the morning"
You agreed and decided to let Jordan sleep first. While he was sleeping you took out your notebook and looked at the drawings and read through the songs. One lyric really stuck to you
"I got a pet cheetah down in my basement"
What is that supposed to mean? You laugh and close the book. You decide to just let Jordan sleep and not wake him up.
