"You gonna go talk to him?" Jared asked, the slightest hint of jealousy could be detected in his words. I laced my fingers with his and gave his hand a squeeze.

"I'm not, I don't think he even saw us. Why? Would it upset you if I did?"

"No." He lied, pushing a few strands of hair from my shoulder. He wouldn't look me in the eye, but it didn't matter, I could see that he was affected just by Matt's presence. "I just want to get out of here and have some alone time with you before we get Emily back tomorrow. That little quickie in the bathroom was merely an appetizer." It was obvious that he was a little intimidated by the thought of me striking up a conversation with Matt. Anytime the one you love runs into an ex, there will be feelings of jealousy. I was much worse than him when it came to the subject of envy. I let that green eyed monster control me a little too much and wanted to punch out the two fans who had been flirting with him all night. Of course, this was completely ridiculous because he never even dated them.

My heart beat faster and I felt all warm and tingly inside, just happy that he had those insecure feelings. To have someone love you so much that they were jealous of anyone they considered a threat, was flattering. "I have no reason to talk to him. If he says hi, I'll return the greeting, but that's all."

"Fuck!" Jared said in the most repulsed voice I'd ever heard. I glanced back in Matt's direction, just in time to see a head full of red hair pass by. I'd know those long flowing tresses of fire anywhere and almost threw up. Anger and resentment shot through me like a bullet and I suddenly felt like I couldn't control my temper. Holy shit, it's a bitch when the shoe is on the other foot. I scowled at Jared.

Any thoughts of talking to Matt had vanished in an instant. Jared was obviously uncomfortable as hell, judging by the steady shifting in his seat and the clenched jaw. This was the first time we had all been in the same room since his infidelity and her very presence elevated my heart rate. She paraded past Matt and I saw the frown on his face when he instantly realized who she was.

Part of me just wanted to leave and get the hell out of there before anything could happen, but the other part of me wanted to knock her out. The smug look on her face as she stood there, staring at me while she spoke to a friend, made the hair on my arms stand on end.

Jared stood and put his arm protectively around me. "Time to go." I knew he didn't want a scene and he knew damned well that if we stayed, there would definitely be one.

Ashley leaned closer. "Who's the bitch?" She knew by the look on my face that I wasn't happy. Unlike me, Ashley had no children or a steady boyfriend. She was 5'9, fucking gorgeous and hadn't gained a single pound since high school.

"Don't ask," I mumbled, glancing over to see 'her' walking toward the bathroom. The bathroom that Jared and I just had sex in. I chuckled at that thought.

We had been friends for years and I could see her ready to pull her earrings off to throw down if needed. "I got your back Kris."

"Can we just get the fuck out of here?" Jared cut her off. He didn't want a scene or for anyone to go to jail. As a precaution, he tightened his grip around my waist, guiding me away from our table. This bitch's attendance tonight not only brought back some feelings of rage, making me want to rip her head off, but it also stirred up anger toward Jared.

"That's probably a great idea because I'm in the mood to fight." Ashley said with a sarcastic laugh.

We saw James and Matt chatting and as we got closer, Matt nodded. "Everything okay?" He asked, obviously concerned about me.

"Yes, thanks Matt. Of all nights for her to show up, right?" I rolled my eyes, the frustration building as we stopped to chat for a minute. I had no idea that little miss mistress retreated and had sashayed over to Jared, whispering into his ear. I was clueless about what was happening until I heard Ashley raise her voice.

"What the fuck?!" She screeched, elbowing me.

From there everything happened so fast. I spun around and before Jared could stop me, I snatched a drink from the bar and threw it in her face. Her friend instantly lunged at me, but Matt intercepted her. Jared put his arms around me and swiftly guided me out of the club.
