Jared took my hand and helped me into his truck. I didn't even bother to ask where we were going and he certainly never gave me a hint. Clearing his throat, he reached over and took my hand. "I know that we've both been really busy and haven't had a chance to talk or text much, but I think it's important to let you know how much I missed you."

It made my heart flutter to see the wedding band on his finger again as he gripped the steering wheel. We had both removed them long ago, but was this his way of saying that he wanted to try one last time? "I missed you too, and I'm thrilled to have a few days off."

"I'm only here for two weeks before I have to catch a flight for England." He informed me.

"Already? Damn, you just got here." I wasn't expecting him to be leaving again so soon and felt a little disappointed. His cologne was driving me crazy and he reached over to hold my hand.

"Unfortunately, I have to. But.... I was thinking that the three of us can maybe spend some time together, you know, as a family." Before I had a chance to respond, he spoke again. "I know things have been.... different between us, but if you're not interested, I'll understand."

"No! Emily will love that." I assured him, gliding my fingers along the inside of his tattooed arm. Staring down at the red and black ink, I remembered the kiss we shared just before he left and suddenly felt nervous. It was kind of silly to feel that way after all we had been through, but I couldn't help it. Being apart all this time made me realize how important our marriage was. Seriously, for me to still feel butterflies in my stomach just being next to him, proved that we had unfinished business. I'd love to have some time with you as well."

He didn't say a word as we neared the house. The place was totally empty, since Emily was at my mother's house. We would be all alone and the thoughts of what could possibly happen made the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. God, it had been so long since I last had sex and I was so unprepared! 'Fuck! I didn't even shave! Ugh! Relax Kristen, you're getting ahead of yourself!'

He parked the truck in the driveway and glanced over to me. "Do you mind if we come here to talk?"

"Not at all." I opened my door to get out, but he insisted that I wait for him to come around to help me down. I watched him exit his side and jog around the front of the truck to mine. He opened the door and took my hand, guiding me until my feet touched the ground. Jared followed me inside and I watched him wander around, checking out the new couch. "Want anything to drink?"

"No thanks." He finally sat down, crossing one leg over the other and slumping down until he was comfortable and relaxed. Those ocean blue eyes locked on me and I felt like a silly teenager with a massive crush as I took my place on the recliner. "Kristen you can come sit over here, I won't bite." The words poured from his mouth all flirty like and I smirked.

He was such a liar, he always did bite, and sometimes I wanted nothing more than for him to sink his teeth into my soft skin, pull my hair, and remind me who will always own my heart. With shaky hands, I stood and moved to the couch. I made sure to sit close, but made no move to touch him. Letting out a deep breath, he rubbed his palms up and down his legs. The awkward silence was making me nervous, and then he spoke. "I really miss you guys and I'm sick of being alone."

"We miss you too." It wasn't a lie, and my bottom lip quivered as he sat up, placing his fingers under my chin and tilting my head back. All I could think was, 'kiss me!'
