The violin class ended the same way it began; without Kelsie. Where could she be? She'd never miss a violin class.
I decided to go to the Slashi Hub; where Kelsie and I were supposed to meet that day.
"I'll have a vanilla shake please." I made my order. I noticed the place was packed with customers that day.
"Aaah Slashi Fridays..." This was when one lucky customer won fifty dollars for buying a milkshake.
I took my vanilla shake and sipped it as I looked for an empty table. I was lucky to find one.
I took the opportunity to continue with the script. Mr. Paisley is quite demanding so I just have to write, write, write!
"Is this seat taken?" A familiar voice asked.
"No it... isn't. Chris?" I said a bit surprised.
"Correct," he said sitting, "So you know me."
"Of course I do. We're in the same club."
Chris was Dale's best friend; in both the play and reality.
"Good eye. Is that the script?" He asked pulling it towards him,
"Yes." I said pulling it back, "No sneak - peeks!"
"I'm just eager to see more of your amazing art work, "
"You'll see it tomorrow during rehearsal."
"I bet if it was someone else you wouldn't resist," Chris said.
I looked at him."What do you mean?"
Just then Kelsie arrived.
"I'm sorry I'm late Kristie," she said."Oh hello!" She told Chris.
"I hope that isn't my free milkshake," she said pointing at my half empty vanilla shake."I keep my promises," I said lending her five bucks. She went to get one.
"She's hot," Chris commented. It's true. Kelsie was really pretty. She had black flawless hair with amazing grey eyes. Her fashion sense was always on point and I strongly believed she was the famous Khloe Starks' cousin. They were very much alike; same high pitched voices, same complexion... they were identical.
"I know..." I finally said
"Wait, what did you mean earlier?""Oh here she comes, I'll see you during rehearsals tomorrow," He said intentionally leaving me in suspense.
"It was nice meeting you," he said to Kelsie giving her a soft handshake. He then left.
"You didn't tell me you are part of the squad," Kelsie said, sitting.
"What squad?" I asked blankly.
"You know...with Chris, Dale... I saw you talking to Dale the other day and now Chris... girl you on fire!" She said sipping her milkshake.
"Come on Kelsie, we're just in the same club. How do you know Chris?"
"Everyone knows all footballers in Sanders High... I think he's kinda cute," she admitted.
"He thinks you're hot too," I disclosed to her.
"Really? You're not just saying that, are you?" Kelsie said trying to hide her excitement.
"Yeah, he just told me before you came," Kelsie's cheeks turned rosy red.
"Oh no... don't tell me you're into him," I said looking at her on the eyes.
"Who? me? No way!" she said defensively.
"But you look like an oversized red chilli," I said, "You definitely like - like Chris!"
"Sshh! Don't shout it out then," she admitted.
"Maybe I do just a little bit but don't say anything to him!" She warned me."Did you get to know your actors and actresses?" She asked, taking the script.
"Yes I'm the main actress," I told her.
"Wow. Script writer and main actress? Who's the main actor?"
"Dale Bryce."
Kelsie looked at me.
"I didn't want to ask this earlier but now I'm prompted to... Do you like Dale?"
"Psht...yeah right. There's no chance that..."
"Yes or No."
Kelsie got me cornered. Lying couldn't get me out of this one.
"A little," I whispered. She squinted her eyes at me.
"Okay, maybe a whole lot," I owned up.
"But he's with Paige," I quickly said."He told you?" She asked.
"No...it's just, obvious I guess."
"You're just making assumptions," Kelsie told me.
"But last year they were King and Queen Sanders." I said.
"Last year is so ancient now." Kelsie said, "I'm going to investigate just to prove you wrong; and you are going to help me... in the mean time, you need a glow up." She said.
"My clothes are perfectly fine."
"Nope."
"My pigtails are..."
"Nah!"
"But my cap and glasses are..."
"Both going on a very long trip."
"No way. I'm okay with me," I said.
"Fine. But if you ever rethink I'm all yours. I know You'll come around," she concluded.
"Where were you today during violin class?" I asked after a short period of silence.
"I wanted to tell you I quit but you rushed into your math class earlier today. I joined the journalism club instead. Mrs. Sydney was too much."
"Come on, I can't go for violin class alone... I'm quitting too then," I decided.
I had become fond of Kelsie since the first time we met. She was kindhearted and a good friend too. I can't imagine facing Mrs. Sydney without her.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"You really loved the violin.""And I really love drama too. I need to focus on this script and give it my best." I concluded.
