"How is my wife?" My dad asked, eagerly waiting for his reply.
"She is very well sir. You should go in and... " My dad and I didn't wait for the rest. We ran into the room immediately and we found her sitting on the hospital bed.
"Mom!" I exclaimed smiling. She was okay!
"What happened to you?" My dad was very concerned.
"I felt a little dizzy while I was preparing breakfast in the morning. I can't remember what happened next."
'That's just temporary amnesia. It will fade away soon," he then cleared his throat, "You were dizzy because you have a low concentration of nutrients in your blood and therefore that affects your brain function. This may generally cause a problem to your Central Nervous System because your neurones and..."
"You do realise we barely understood anything you just said," my dad pointed out a very crucial fact.
"My apologies sir," he said before turning to my mom, "You must start taking a balanced diet. This is adequate for The growth and development of your child, otherwise, I can guarantee you a healthy life!" He smiled reassuringly.
"Child?!" We all asked the doctor at the same time.
"Yes..." he said looking at us from my dad, to me and to my mom, "You do want the child to be healthy, don't you?" He couldn't understand why we were having such a hard time agreeing with him.
"I'm having a child?" My mom asked.
"She's expectant!" My dad seemed to be the most shocked in the room.
The doctor must be crazy. Surely my parent's would know.
"Ah! I assume you didn't know this earlier. I've has many cases like this one," he said getting his huge note book from a table.
"Mrs. Leila Opondo," he made a brief confirmation of the patient's name, "According to my analysis, you are three and a half weeks pregnant. "
This is BIG NEWS!! My parents were having a child they didn't even know about. There is going to be another permanent member of the family. I've always wanted a brother or sister, but mostly a brother. I just hope it's going to be a boy!
My parents were still shocked. They were both speechless
"We'll give you two a moment," the doctor said referring to him and I. We slowly walked out and he closed the door.
"Wait out here. I'm sure I'm sure they won't be long."
I was still very excited about the soon to be born child.
"Is everything okay?" Charlie asked me when he saw me.
"Everything's fine, better than I thought."
"What did the doctor say?"
"Something about the nervous something something but long story short, my mom's having a baby!" Charlie looked relieved and shocked at the same time.
"Wow! That's amazing!"
"I know! I've always wanted a sibling and here he or she comes!" I was super excited, "Being an only child can get boring sometimes. I've always envied sibling rivalry you know."
"Tell me about it," Charlie agreed with me.
"But you've got Ryan so that's better off."
"Uuh. Yeah yeah." Charlie answered oddly, "Here comes your dad."
My dad was coming towards us looking surprised and confused.
"Your mom has to stay here for two more days. We'll pick her up then. Now we have to get home before it gets dark outside."
