KRISTIE'S POV
DING DONG!
I was in front of Charlie's house right after school. I hadn't gone home yet since I felt the need to pay him a visit. I had never heard from him since the day he met Dale. I just hope he's home, and why is no one opening the door?
DING DONG!
Or maybe I should go home. I saw my dad's car parked outside our house just as I was coming over to Charlie's. I bet he's from the hospital. I hope the doctor's appointment he had went well. Just then, the door was opened. It was Charlie.
"I wasn't expecting you today." These were the first words that came out of his mouth.
"I just thought maybe I'd come by to remind you of the jersey you promised me the other day." That was the perfect excuse!
"Ooh right. The Olympus jersey. I traded it the next day after the game."
"Why?"
"I quit the team."
"Seriously? I thought you were passionate about football."
"I haven't quit playing football. I have another team in mind."
"Which one?"
"No more questions." I realized that Charlie was being apprehensive today. "Why exactly are you here?" He asked me.
"I just wanted to see you."
"Why didn't you tell me you were in a relationship?" I remained silent in shock. I wasn't prepared for this.
"You've never asked. That's why."
"Kristie you tell me everything. How come you left that part out? Or lied about it?"
"I've never lied to you Charlie."
"Remember the day you had Drama Competitions last year at Mayfair High? Dale was the guy you kissed, wasn't it?"
"Yes. Actually he kissed me, not the other way around."
"I asked you if he was your boyfriend and you said no."
"We weren't dating at that time!" Charlie stroke his chin.
"I must attend to very important matters. GOODBYE." He then shut the door in my face.
"RUDE!" I shouted hoping he heard me. I decided to go home at this point. I needed a peaceful environment and that was the place to be.
I had to clear my mind to be ready for my mom's weekly cooking lessons. Her classes only had one student... Me! I was super excited! I can't wait to see what we will be preparing.
I got home and it was very quiet.
My dad was fast asleep. I could hear him snore from his room. He must have been tired from the blood donation earlier today.
My mom arrived an hour later with the ingredients we needed for today's recipe.
"Today we'll prepare chicken curry." She arranged all the ingredients on the kitchen counter. There were so many spices I had never seen before.
It's like each food has its suitable set of spices but at the same time you can get creative and make up your own recipe. I might consider being a part time chef.
"Apron ready?" My mom asked putting hers on.
"Ready!" I replied.
We began cooking, mixing spices here, there, on the floor... I'm still wondering how we got some on the ceiling.
