The statement made by Paige completely threw me off and I couldn't hold my discomfort any longer. I told her I'd see her around and I quickly went back to my seat where I found Archie still engrossed in the game.
"Mrs. Bryce is back!" He yelled the last name I wanted to hear.
"Are you mocking me?" I asked.
"No. I would never mock a football player's girl," he said smiling. He was still sarcastic. I could see his annoying laughter coming up.
"I've just been wondering," he started, "Why aren't you a fan of The Channing Team while Dale is playing for that team, which is my team."
"I didn't know that he would be playing today. Charlie is the one who invited me. I mean Higa." The look on Archie's face prepared me for the worst.
"So now you know Higa too. Wow!" The mockery in his voice was undeniable, "Oh look! Khloé Starks just called me," he said showing me his blank phone.
"Would you believe me if I told you I knew Khloé Starks?" Archie remained silent and he got back to watching the game.
The first and only goal was scored by The Channing Football Team and all their fans jumped out of their seats including Archie and Paige.
"I told you we would win you liar!" Archie shouted in my face.
"Liar?" I asked in disbelief, "Come with me," I said to him as I led the way. I realized that he wasn't following me so I went back.
"Are you coming or not?" Archie was too busy celebrating he barely noticed me, "Hey!" I said tapping his shoulder.
"Okay fine!" He said following me. Was this necessary? Yes! For the benefit of satisfaction. I cannot lose twice in one day. We were looking for the players' changing rooms and there were a lot of routes to follow. We got lost a couple of times but we finally found the one that belonged to the Channing Football Team. I knocked on the door.
"I like how bold you are and how far you're willing to go with this prank but we shouldn't be here, it's a ground rule," Archie said sounding a little scared. Someone finally opened the door.
"What do you want?" The man asked.
"Is Dale Bryce in? I want to speak to him. I'm his girlfriend."
"Really?" He asked looking at me from head to toe.
"That's exactly what I said," Archie said and I shoved him in the gut.
"Dale!" He called out as we waited anxiously. I couldn't wait to congratulate him on their victory and most importantly, prove Archie wrong.
"He just got out!" One of the players from inside shouted.
"You heard him," the guy said before slamming the door in our faces.
"I tried. Even heaven knows I'm not lying."
"Heaven just saved you from embarrassing yourself. Now I'm leaving. I have to celebrate this glorious day!"
We approached the entrance where we found two people... Dale and Paige!
"What is going on here?" I asked in disbelief.
"Kristie! I wasn't expecting to see you here," Dale said clearly surprised to see me.
"Why? Because you were expecting to see her?!" I asked angrily looking at Paige.
"I'll be on my way. Goodbye Dale," Paige said then she left.
"Goodbye Dale? Why HER?"
"Because I know that you don't like football but you obviously changed your mind about that," Dale said looking at the wrist band I had.
