DALE'S POV
"I have to show dad first," Kristie said going into the house. Kelsie followed her almost immediately and I followed them blindly like a bat.
Kristie's dad was coming downstairs with a box in his hand written 'DONATION'.
"Dad you need to see this."
"All this paperwork? I'll look at it in the plane."
"Dad you have to read it now. Just this one," Kristie handed him the outstanding one after he placed the box on the floor. He took the paper Kristie had. I still didn't understand what was going on.
"The Starks' Alley? Where is that?"
"It's at the Town Center near the Swedish Embassy," Kelsie answered fast.
My dad read deeply and he even took a look at some of the other papers.
"I thought that you were comfortable with moving back to Poland with me."
"I was but only because it would make you happy."
"...and because you couldn't find a reasonable job."
"Yes," Kristie said grumpily, "But isn't this great?"
"It is. I'm impressed, really. How did you get this?"
"I didn't. She did," Kristie pointed at Kelsie.
"Although it is a good opportunity, I have to know the her salary and how frequently she will receive it."
"Actually sir," Kelsie began, "Kristie will be provided with full accommodation and all the necessary housing facilities. Her salary is still in discussion but I am optimistic that it will all work out because they were thrilled by her script on 'RACISM' they just had to hire her. They appreciate overflowing talent."
"Wait, you showed them that script? Where did you get it?" Kristie was surprised by this discovery and so was I. After the Drama Competitions, no one ever mentioned it. I barely even remembered the storyline.
"It was in some old school files in the Journalism office. I searched through them all."
I noticed Kristie's eyes welling up and she hugged Kelsie tightly.
"I can't believe that you'd do all this for me. You're my best friend for life."
I must say I was quite jealous because she's never hugged me like that. I'll get mad at her for it later. Now I'm just happy for her.
"I guess I have no choice but to let you stay. I keep my word. Kristie and Kelsie both shrieked with joy.
"Girls," I said mockingly.
"I'm sorry. Who are you?" Kristie's dad asked.
"I'm Kristie's and Kelsie's friend sir," I said quickly.
"Right. Kristie, I would like to say goodbye go your boyfriend Charlie. Please call him."
Charlie? BOYFRIEND?? That is clearly not my name!
"He went to Japan to study," Kristie said slowly as she looked at me. She knew that I was offended because she actually confirmed it by not denying anything her dad said.
"Best of luck to him then. I must leave at this moment lest the plane leaves without me. Come here you." Kristie ran to her dad and they hugged tightly, "I'm so proud of you for achieving something like this at a young age," he then kissed Kristie's forehead, "Remember to remain strong. You'll need a heart of steel with a pinch of emotions if you are to survive alone here."
"I know I'm not alone," she said looking at Kelsie and I.
Kristie's dad left after they offloaded Kristie's belongings with only twenty minutes to his flight. Hopefully he'll make it.
"I can't believe I'm still standing here with you guys!" She screamed as she hugged us both. I just stood there with no word and no emotion.
"Dale must be the happiest behind that gloomy face I suppose," Kelsie said afterwards.
"So when were you planning to tell me?" I asked Kristie.
"Tell you what?" She asked pretending to be clueless.
"About you and Charlie!!" I was so angry at her because she knew that I didn't like that Asian boy only to find how friendly he was with her dad. She hadn't even introduced me to her father before.
"Wait, you believed that?" Kelsie asked me.
"I've had enough of you today Kelsie so shut the fuck up!" They both seem shocked.
"Okay you need to calm down right now," Kristie said, "My dad thinks he knows so much about me so I just go with it. It was nothing."
"How come he doesn't know about me?"
"Well you hardly ever visit."
"So Charlie comes to visit huh." I couldn't take the thought of them being together, alone.
"Charlie helped me out a lot. He's the one who drove me to the hospital when you were unavailable, he took me to Lindsey's funeral, he came to my mom's party... The point is he was there for me when you weren't!"
"I hope you two will be happy. Let's see how your long distance relationship with him will work out." I marched to the car furiously. I know she cheated on me, I know it. But
..."Wait!" I called out to them, "Can I have my car keys back?" Kelsie took the keys from her purse and she threw them in the tall grass. They then went back to Kristie's house.
"Great, just great," I said searching in the tall grass.
