I opened the door and then boom!...

"Another bomb!"

" Nooo... Dale Bryce! He asked me if he could come in."

"Dale!? And you let him in didn't you?"

"I kinda did."

"I knew you couldn't resist. Even after what he did to you?"

"He didn't do anything. He explained to me that Paige and Chris are the bad guys."

"And you believed that? He's obviously lying to you."

"He seemed genuine to me. And that isn't even the shocking part. You know what else he told me?"

"More lies?"

"Kelsie!"

"Go on then..."

"He said he like-likes me."

"You mean like feelings like-like?"

"Yeah with emotions and everything. He even held my hand." Kelsie stared at me, "He told me he loved me."

"Dale Bryce said he's in love with you?"

"It's what I said."

"You must be watching a lot of soap operas if you believed that."

"I don't know if I believe it. Should I? "

"Honestly, I don't know. But the fact that he came to your house means something. When did you give him the directions to your place?"

"That's the mystery. I didn't and he didn't tell me who did."

"So you told him how you feel?"

"No way. I couldn't."

"Why?"

"I was afraid I guess. Before he left he told me to go back to the drama club."

"Finally something we both agree on. You should... his best friend on the other hand..."

"Chris?"

"Yes. He's a nuisance! "

"Tell me what he did this time."

"He calls me thrice every single night. I tried blocking him but he used a different number. And when I blocked that one he used another one! He has also been trying to stop me on the hallways everyday. I can't stand that boy!"

"Me neither. The main reason I don't want to go back to the drama club."

"But you have to Kristie. It's either you go back or everyone doesn't go for the competition in two weeks! They are having a hard time getting a new actress you know."

"How do you know all this?"

"I'm a member of the journalism club remember? We know EVERYTHING!"

"I'll think about it. Oh! Look at what I got Lindsey." I said getting the halved heart from my bag.

"Is this pure silver?" Kelsie asked, "...because I think its fake. We need to go for jewellery hunt some time soon."

"Kelsie. This is a gift with love and I'm going to wear this half whether you like it or not. In fact I'll put it on right now!" I took one half and did exactly that.

"Just know that its bad for your skin and... "
Honk! Honk! Kelsie stopped talking.

"My mum is here!!"

"You know I've never heard you talking about your dad before."
Kelsie looked at me as if she was carefully choosing her words.

"I don't know who my father is," she said after a while, "I've never seen him. Not even in a picture. I don't even know if he's alive or dead."

That was... something.

"What about your mum?" She asked me.

"She's been away in Kenya for a while. She's coming back in a week. I'm super excited!" I said.

"The same way you'll be super excited to meet my mum," Kelsie said leading me downstairs.

"Mom! Mom! I'd like you to meet my best friend!"

"Kelsie!" A man's voice called.

"Uncle Kent? Is that you?"

"In the flesh!" He said coming from the kitchen.

"Your mum sent me those groceries on the counter. She has an appointment with her dematologist. Who's your friend?"

"I'm Kristie," I said shaking his hand.
"I'm Kent. Nice to meet you." He then turned to Kelsie.

"Your mum will be home in about two hours. You know how she's never in a rush... like I am right now. Have a nice evening ladies."
He left hurriedly.

There was something about him that I just couldn't figure out. He looked very familiar.

"I have to get going. It's getting dark," I said looking out the window.

"Monday?"

"Yeah. Call me when you get home." Kelsie gave me a big hug.

Before leaving The Crystal Waters Spring I remembered my earlier objective to look for Khloé Starks's house. "Maybe I'll remember the next time I come," I assured myself.
