"I got your million texts and calls. I'm here now," Kelsie said as she arrived at the cafeteria. It was lunchtime.
"Great! Since I have limited time save the questions for later, okay? Okay!" I took in a deep breath ready to spill some teenage girl crisis on the table.
"First of all, Charlie and I haven't been talking lately because he's mad at me for not knowing much about him while he's clearly the one who shuts me out of his life so it's technically his fault!"
"Charlie is the Asian guy right?" Kelsie asked even after I clearly told her not to ask questions.
"Yes. We've never talked since my brother was born and ..."
"You have a brother now? You didn't tell me!"
"Yes I do. His name is Keshun."
"Keshuuun. I like it."
"I chose it," I said smiling proudly, "Now back to my point. Don't you think it's unfair that I get blamed for Charlie's ignorance?"
"Charlie is obviously hiding something you shouldn't know about. How much does he know about you?"
"He knows everything about me. I tell him everything!" I confidently said.
"Even about Dale?" Kelsie asked keenly looking at me to say the truth.
"Uh... maybe not everything. Which brings me to Dale... "
"Wait there's more? Let's here it!" Kelsie said getting comfortable.
"I think Dale doesn't trust me enough."
"What made you think like that?" Kelsie was concerned.
"Before I left home on that day, I was looking for a ride to go to the hospital. Dale didn't answer his phone so that's where Charlie came in."
"Why didn't you call me? I too would have loved to see the baby."
"Kelsie, if I called you we would have arrived at the hospital after visiting hours and you know that. Anyway after Charlie took me back home that night Dale called me back and I told him everything... except when he asked about who took me to the hospital. When he asked who it was I just couldn't tell him it was Charlie."
"You could've just told him it was me."
"I didn't want to lie to him either."
"Honesty policy. I like that."
"Do you think I should be worried about Charlie?" I asked Kelsie.
"Do I worry about Chris?" She answered me with a question, "You need to stay away from him. Promise me that," she looked directly at me for a while.
"Okay fine. I'll stay away from him."
"Anyway, I'll come by to see baby Keshun." Just then, Kelsie's phone rang and she answered it.
"Good afternoon Sir... aha... yes.... alright!" She hung up. "Make that Saturday. I need to submit my report to the Journalism Club chairperson by Friday."
"Fine." At least I had gotten a solution to one of my problems.
