Unchanged
Buck walked in
Petra couldn't believe
He was just going to leave
But what did she think
With Lou on the brink
Foolish heart
She wished she could tear it apart
She didn't want it anymore
What was the useless thing for?
Other than to hurt and maim
Always just more to the same.
Her own fault...
"Petra can we talk?"
Petra just hammered away.
"What's there to say?"
"How about Good-bye?"
Petra hammered harder
Not wanting to cry.
"Later Muscles.
Hope you find what you're
Looking for."
With a wave of a hammer she
Showed him the door.
Buck grabbed her wrist.
She had thought to resist.
"I came to say good bye not later."
"Later, Adios, Arrivederci.
Does it matter how it's said,
You're still leaving BG."
She snatched back her wrist and
started pounding out iron
More forcefully.
"Look, I've got this thing
to workout with Justice
But then I'll be coming back home
And I may or may not... be alone."
"You may or may not be alone?!"
Petra let out a groan.
Well Whoop Dee Do!
Wait... what does Justice want with you?"
"Don't be like that,
Say somethin' that backs up
what you were sayin'
when you gave me that pin.
Lou... is in jail, she confessed.
And I had told Justice the rest."
A look Buck never seen before
Came across Petra's face
"And what... you're now going to race,
to take her place?!
And you ask me to confess how I feel?!"
She gave Buck a shove.
"Are you for real?!
So what... I lay my feelings at your feet
So you can stomp them into the ground
Nice and neat?!
I say no!
You wanna Go?!
Then Go!"
Buck not sure what to do,
Grabbed hold and kissed, you know who.
"You really don't play fair."
Petra said, with a look of despair.
"Look Petra I don't want to drag you
into my personal affairs.
And if you really want to know
I think it's you who isn't playing fair."
She wondered if she dared...
"Me? I've been nothing but fair!
If I wasn't playing fair I would have done this...
She reached up and pulled him in for a kiss
A kiss that was slow, torturous and long
She was determined to show him he was wrong.
When she pulled away
He said... nothing
The blow was crushing.
She nodded, picked up her tools
and went back to work again.
Refusing to look at him.
She only had one thing left to say,
"Good bye, Muscles."
He stared at her a moment
And then just walked away.
