What To Say
Billy went to check on Rue
Wishing there was more he could do
When he got to her room.
He felt a feeling of sudden doom.
"Where is she?" He asked Jasper
Who answered him with nervous laughter
"Gone, the Chief, he set her free.
And you know Ruechari...
The moment she was well enough
She was up and running off."
Billy didn't know what to say
"Do you know which way?"
"I think she headed to see Ronan
Probably wonderin if he's still moanin'"
Her eyes finally open and her first thought is him!
He knew not what to expect
but he now knew where to begin.
He got to Doc's he didn't find her there.
"She was here.
Ronan has been flourishing under her care.
I do really think he'll pull through.
All thanks to Rue."
"Do you know where she may be?"
She was talking about the hotel to Ronan...
"Satchel and Lotta's maybe?"
Billy let out an audible sigh
He left to chase her but
wondered, why?
The Baggage's were besides themselves with glee
Having just spoken to Ruechari
"We just a made a deal with her...
I think maybe she went to the Mayor to confer?"
Billy knew the Mayor was on his way
but not due in till later that day.
He wondered where she'd stop next
Why did everything with her need to be so complex?
He thought he'd stop by the cafe
So see if they'd seen Rue today.
"She was in here with Tru
They had some noodles and
a few muffins too."
Billy stared at Gyn in disbelief.
"Tru? Really?"
"Maybe go check with the Chief?"
"Yeah, I'll do that."
Billy said heading that way
Wondering when he saw her
what he might say.
He stopped in at the general store
It was a lot busier then it had been before
Looks like the Chief's coffee was bring them in droves
but where Rue was no one knows.
Giving up Billy saddled up for a ride.
To a place he knew that had a natural water slide.
He got off his horse letting No Name wander free
Then saw the last person he expected to see.

Rue was sitting on the rocks her feet in the spring.
Her eyes closed, the sun on her face.
He wondered what brought her to this place.
Until out came from the water came WhatsHisFace
He snatched her up and pulled her in
She laughed and the splashing did begin
He wrapped her up in his arms
And once again, Billy wished to do harm.
The injun pushed her wet hair from her face.
tucking it back into place.
He signed to her, his look intense.
Billy felt poised on the fence.
He watched the injun's head dipped low.
And Billy thought, "Aw, HELL NO!"
He made a noise, they broke apart
Billy gave them both a start.
Rue seen Billy standing there
Looking on them with an angry stare.
She got out of the pool, she made her way
She stood in front of him
"Say, what you want to say."
Billy shook his head, no
He couldn't, he would't, he can't
He had to let go
Once he started, he'd just rant
And push Rue further way.
He didn't know what to say.
Billy looked upon her hopelessly.
but then out came...
"I love you, Ruechari."
